Question about Party Search.

Why for the love of god don't you guys increase the string size of partysearch!

People have asked for it, and got no official reply for it, Now we have to use it and everthing you put in wts, wtb , etc is cut off. Please tell me why you guys can't increase the stringsize? Is it taking up to much server space? Do you guys need to recode the whole partysearch to add it? Please tell me, because how i see it, it's getting pretty silly

It's too short. More detail about your item(s) means quicker trades and less questions asked.

Party search would actually be useful if it had a longer string size, I'd use it. Right now it's garbage.

It can be compared to trying to use a text message to write an essay on War and Peace. It just doesn't work

I definately want an answer to this. It seems like it would be such a simple change, but if they gave a valid reason, I would understand why they couldn't do it.

For each of my characters

We tell them over and over the text size is too short and their answer is to force us to read the words "party search" 100 times a minute?

I love the addition of it...it allows me to browse whats for sale in my district...how about extending the text limit...and the que limit of how many posts are in the panel. right now they scroll by pretty fast...make it atleast as long as the chat panel. and allow more than one post. Most people that sell things...sell numerous things

Yeah, the party search window would be used more if you could fit more in the screen. It's a nice idea, it's just not practical as is. Being forced to use it is kinda lame.

Compared to SOME of the updates people are asking for, like fixing the lag or the rubberbanding, THIS string size increase DOES NOT TAKE THAT MUCH EFFORT!!! For God's Sake, Increase it before you have mob of angry gamers outside your building.

It is not possible for us to extend the character size at this time. We understand the request, but for right now, what we have is what we need to work with.

Thank you for awnsering us this. Question is if you know the char limit can not be increased, why do you force people into using it?

With the loot scaling you informed us, that people should make money through trading of items. Not by merching white items drops from mass farming. That was fine offcourse. (Although my imo it was not, but then again anyone can have his or her imo on that issue ).
Then came the more restrictive chat channel that forced people only into the trade chat. That was fine too, although making it harder for people to get each other attention.
Now if i am selling,buying, trading something I need allways to open the trade or send a whisp to get the statistics on the item of purchase. You can't simply put in: "WTS Colossal Scimitar Req 9 15^50 20/20 +30Hp 100K + XE no trade". It will only fit: "S Colos Scim r9 15^ 20/20 30hp 100K+XE", and forget about putting a second item in there (Mind you this is an example, I'm not selling one )

So how does this improve the player experience is my question? I really would like to use the partysearch in this matter, but in the current state it's simply broke.

Ok I was thinking how we could solve the Char limit and came up with the following idea. Since all items in game are made out of a weapons skin, dam modifier, req, and 2 "magical" components. Can't we make the party search work like the template system? You can get a couple of pull down boxes:

• WTT

• Gold Weapon
• Purple Weapon
• Blue Weapon
• Green Weapon
• Weapon Mod

• SHIELD
• SWORD
• AXE
• BOW
• SCYTHE
• SPEAR
• DAGGERS
• WAND
• FOCI
• STAFF

• 15^50
• 15^Stance
• 15^enchanted
• 15 etc

• REQ 8
• REQ 9
• REQ 10
• REQ 11

• Vamparic
• Zealous
• Icy
• Firy
• Ebon
• Sundering 20/20
• Sundering 19/20
• etc

• Health +30
• Health +29
• Armor +5
• etc

These would then create a template code, which can be put in Party Search.

Second thought, There is already a system to make pvp items. Why not convert that with skins to party search. Or have a weapon code extractor.
Which reads out the characateristics of an item and puts the template code in to party search. There is allways away to make limits work

So just place an AD, and anyone that is interested in the item can ask for extra details. Many people will want to see the item first, anyway.

You should realize that while spamming in the trade chat will yield you more space, your party search ad will remain there for anyone to see. I regularly check the party search screen, and I have noticed that the static placing of the ad helps a lot more than posting it 30 times.
