A simple (not so lame) idea for all those unused skill points piling up

Hank J. Wimbleton (Skill Point Collector)

2 - Regular tome of your choosing
3 - Superior Identification Kit
4 - Superior Salvage Kit
5 - Elite tome of your choosing
25 - 10 flames of Balthazar
50 - Birthday present(series 1 and 2)
100 - 100 cupcakes
250 - Mini Abbadon
500 - Armbrace of Truth
1000 - Ring of Power can be traded for a...
Legendary Item(Gold like tormented weapons but awesomer skin)
(yes different skin for Sword)

I know my reward ideas are kinda crappy,
so if you have better ideas please post
them im not very creative (my answering machine is just a beep)

I have so many useless skill points
Some way to rid them would be cool

I liek the idea of a reward system of some kind. Pbviously the rewards themselves need not be exactly the same or in those proportions but this at its root is an excellent idea

by GW:EN i'll have lots and lots of skill points so by GW2 . . .
And with a double cap XP weekend thats going to net me half a million XP and that (i think) is 33 skill points alone

With these prices its a reward but not realy exploitable (awaits the "zomg thnk of da bots" crowd)

/signed I like the idea, the rewards need a bit of a tweek though something like say:

5 - Regular tome of your choosing
25 - Elite tome of your choosing
50 - Birthday present(series 1)
100 - Birthday present(series 2)
250 - Everlasting Beetle Juice

Farming skillpoints is very easy. Just solo a lot and you'll get loads of them. This would make a very cheap way to get elite skill tomes and minipets. This would considerably hurt the economy for those items.

But I would really want to see some kind of reward for experience over level 20. Maybe some attribute points that you can grind in a very slow way. Something more rewarding as the skill points that come useless after you get the builds you need.

I like this idea.

There really should be some use for skill points for the long term player. My primary character now has around 450 spare skill points doing nothing, and this idea is a nice use for them.

You mean the bots solo for gold earn the skill points then can get Ele tomes and sell for 12k each? if so maybe you must have Legendary Skill Hunter or something so bots can't trade but long time real players can

I get enough normal/elite tome drops from farming. I unlock many skills in PvP and take them from tomes. So I should make benefits from my skill points! Great idea

Hm... maybe too cheap...

I'll chage it to...

5: Normal Tome
10: Elite Tome
500: Any year present
1000, 1500... every 500 more, another year present, you could choose the year.

I think that it shouldn't be birthday presents. I know I have looked forward to my past 2 years of presents a lot, and it would be kind of spoiled if I can get one anytime(not to mention prices on the rarer ones would plummet). How about a new series for the trader? I wouldn't mind seeing a mini candy corn titan (i4got the name of what the halloween henchies were) and I'm sure everyone would love to have a mini black moa This would be a good way to add some more treats after GW:EN is released, because you could also add minipets of the new monsters/allies (rarity depending on cool factor/animation). And while I totally agree with the idea of giving tonics, maybe not everlastings. Those should be kept to a very rare status (though when they release everlasting transmorgifier, I will be all over it!). Maybe something like "Huge ________ Tonic" which will have something like 20 or 30 uses. Fireworks would also be a good prize, though you should be able to get a good amount per skill point, not just 1.

/signed except for birthday presents. Maybe a range of minipets that it is (only?) possible to obtain via this method. But the idea of tomes sounds good, ditto flames of balthazar.

However, have to be careful, as can either flood market with both elite and normal tomes, so maybe only self use?

Making skill points usable for obtaining already existing items would hurt the economy.
IE skill points being tradable for tomes will greatly drop the prices of tomes, making it pointless to play in HM to get those. The same goes with minis and birthday presents.

I think this would only be okay if new items are introduced or the trade-ins are merchant items (ie salvage kits, id kits, etc).

I like the idea alot (because I have 200+ skill points sitting there doing nothing) but I think the reward requirment (aka skill points) needs to be set higher. And my other concerns are:

- ot will make bot even richer
- its effect upon the market (elite tomes requiring 5 skill points?)

...and I personally think birthday present should be solid BIRTHDAY-only presents - not something that can be gained by grinding skill points.

/signed so my maxed derv will have something to do with all those extra skill points! XD

But as others have already said, don't make the rewards come cheap, and don't give away event items or birthday gifts. I'm all about some customized weaponry, ID/salvage kits, booze/sugar, or special minis just for this, though!

Sorry bro. Cant say I would approve of skill points being traded for ANYTHING of actual value. Its part of the GW dynamic.
