Nightfall Inscriptions question

hey

i currently own GW prophecies and factions, but not nightfall :S(saving up)

i know in nightfall u can get inscriptions for certain weapons, shields, etc.

i was wondering can a friend or sum1 who has nightfall giv/sell me a weapon or shield with an inscription on it and can i use it?

Yes, you can use and trade weapons and offhand weapons with an inscription, and you can also salvage them and use them on a weapon with an empty inscription slot.

The only difference is that you cannot get weapons with inscriptions in Prophecies or Factions from drops, only from trades.
