hello everybody.

I just finished Nightfall so I started looking for some unique items for my paragon. I'm trying to get Luluh's Spear a unique item in the Dejarin Estate.

Since I'm new,I have a couple of questions :

1) Does it make a difference if I try Normal or Hard mode ?

2) I've been trying to find this for 2 days now (both in normal and hard difficulty) but with no luck. Is this normal ? (this is the first unique weapon I'm hunting)

3) any good party formations ? I'm using Dunkoro,Tahlkora and Zhed plus 2xmonk hench, fighter and holy henches.

thank you in advance for any constructive posts.

I farmed that place with my Warrior, a Broadhead Arrow Ranger Hero, an MM Necro (Either Golem or Jagged Bones works fine) Hero and a Word of Healing Monk Hero trying to get Dwaynas Grace for my Dervish. By the time I got Dwaynas Grace I got three of Luluhs spears, all on Normal mode. Took about 20 runs.

To be honest, it's just rotting in my inventory. I'll just hand it to you if you want, just message me in game. If you would rather try and earn it, I got a lot of them without even trying. That and if you farm Acolyte of Dwayna while you're there, people spend a LOT of money on her scythe. There's another two bosses just south of there, all easily farmable with a four man group so it's a nice place to hunt for greens in my opinion.

With bad luck it can take over 100 runs to get a green. The less players in your party, the more chance you have to get the drop though.

Greens are not affected by normal or hard mode scaling so that doesn't matter. You're probably bringing heroes and henchmen with you and each of those has a chance to get the drop instead of you due to the loot scaling that was put into the game to nerf farming.

A lot of people farm greens by bringing heroes and hench with them to get to the boss and kill the henchmen. They may also try to weaken the boss some with a full party. When the boss is down to a point where you think you can handle it yourself, flag your party far off screen until their health turns to gray on your monitor.

Kill the boss. This should give you all the experience for the kill plus a better shot at the green should it drop.

Thank you for your advice everybody. I'll retry (normal mode) with two healers and koss and do the flag thing. Grandma,if I decide to give up I'll give you a PM. I got some yellow items you might wanna check out in exchange for luluh's spear.

I'll post again when I find the spear.

Grandma I give up :P whats your ingame name ? I'm going to add Ichi Sama and whisp u ok ?

I completely lucked out and got Luluh's Spear on the first try.

I was at Pogahn's Passage watching the E/A farm bots farming the bow nearby, and thought I'd give it a go to beat them at their game.

Went out twice, got bored and decided to farm something I could use myself. Since I've got both my hero Ele on fire and spam They're on Fire, I thought I'd get Luluh's to trigger Mark of Roghart.

First time out and I got it. I was giggling to myself.

I won't be around much this weekend, but I should be on on Monday. If I see you on I'll send you a tell.

Hi,

To give you an order of magnitude for the drop rate, I've killed 90 bosses this week-end with my mesmer to cap their elite in NF, all with an 8-men team, and on the total I get 4 greens,
one of which was Luluh spear.

Good luck.
Heng.

I hunted for one this weekend also. I could use one on my Paragon and I wanted to get one myself instead of buying it. I just used my ranger with a toucher build and added just a couple hero and hench. I cleared one patrol which walks back and fort close to luluh and killed his group after that, but didn't touched him while pinging the hero's like mad, so they wouldn't kill him. Then I used the send away trick, sending the hero's/hench outside radar range and touched him up solo. I am not really sure though whether this trick still works with the new farming/loot scaling (anyone knows?), but at least I got one after about 20-25 tries, although I didn't count them exactly.

Added: just on normal mode btw

This is about two months too late, but good information nonetheless for those wanting Luluh's to drop. The trick is to be as close to her as possible when you kill her. I don't know what it is, but my ranged characters could never get it to drop yet my War and Sin could get one just as often as other greens in the area. To experiment, I started farming with my Para and brought him in close for the final blow...viola! I've had it drop back to back following this rule.

for farming greens going solo is the best path.
going with H&H and flagging away before you kill boss is tricky because you probably cant kill the boss by yourself and thus the timing of the H&H escaping is cruicial to whether you have a good chance of getting the drop(if it happens) or not
