I think everyone is familiar with mouse movement and view control, you hold right click to pan around and while you're holding r-click press l-click to move forward in the direction the camera is facing.
After yesterday's update there's some weird behavior in mouse movement, if you've got the mouse cursor over a window (inventory, map, compass, certain text fields in chat or party windows) you can't hold l-click to move forward any more.
I use this method of movement extensively and I'm finding that, at seemingly odd times, I'm not moving forward like I expect but instead I'm standing still. In every instance my cursor was accidentally over a UI element that stole focus from the forward movement.
Is this intended or is this a bug? I really don't like this feature if it's intentional, it's a complete change to how mouse movement works in game and after 2 years of playing it's _really_ screwing me up.

Why are you using l-click to lock forward run? You can just hit R and it will lock your character into run. I use it all the time so that I only have to steer with my mouse, and it still works fine.

pork soldier is playing with one hand.
He's not locking run with l-click. He's holding l+r to run and letting go of l to move the cursor.
I sometimes do it to when I'm eating, drinking or just plain lazy. lol

I generally use my left hand for unmentionable things while playing, like using keys 1 through 8 and wasd..

I too move that way - quite irritating. I use the mouse to move and my left hand to cast spells and select/call targets.
It is especially true when you are standing in some AoE over time and I am vainly trying to move. You then have to find your cursor so you can move it off the UI element or randomly move it around and try until it works. The former is hard when you are in the middle of a battle as you have to totally loose focus on what you are doing/what is going on and look at each UI element for the stupid cursor and the latter is an exercise in frustration if you happen to be over a the map.
A better question is does anyone find this better? I'm all for improvements being done and am not saying that their time was better off someplace else, however I can't see where this helps anyone. The only people effected are the ones who use their mouse to move (no other reason to try and click both mouse buttons, nor is it something that you accidentally do trying something else) and we want them to *move*.
At least let it be turned back to its old behavior.

It's probably a bug (ie: unintended) since it wasn't mentioned as a bugfix or improvement.
What I find most annoying is that my compass is huge, and my target monitor is right in the middle of the screen (interrupt much?) so this problem hits me really often (say, once every minute of active play).

I just exited the Junundu at the end of a SS/LB farm run
Weee happy days! Aggroing a LOT of shards in hard mode and suddenly not being in a wurm - nothing like insta death.
I hope it is simply a bug and fixed quickly, other types of changes have been done without it being in the notes. It happens - large complex projects are easy to have small interface changes squeak past the external change logs, more than likely flagged as "internal" changes in the headers. I suppose I can change to WASD movement, but dang it, that makes those of us with really large hands hurt (I suppose there is probably a special keyboard made, but I do not have it nor do I want to switch keyboard every time I feel like firing GW up).
