If there are people that have moved from this to WOW i can see why.

I have had this game for 4 days and experienced long loading times, disconnections and TERRIBLE lag. All things i very rarely got on WOW. Its a shame as i think i would prefer to play GW. Maybe i should just accept it, seeing as its free?

Thanks for the reply, i have obviously joined at a bad time!

Wrong place? Sorry, i read this "Having problems getting the game to run? Want opinions on video cards? This is the place." and assumed this was the best place.

Maybe i should have tried the Lyssa's section.

I dont see why people always make the link with WoW...
WoW, you got to pay for. If Blizzard doesnt do it job good they will get problems with all the players because of the payment.

in GW thats not a problem. Also the lag was just in european western countries, because the problem was in Germany. And no we dont have to *live* with it. We can help Anet out by sending diag reports.
So do that if you got lag or just dont play and pay for WoW if you like that better.

The long loading times are due to downloading the content for the area you are currently joining..

Guild Wars is set up for players using a 56k modem still and there is a great way of stopping it...

Right click on the Guild Wars icon on your desktop and goto properties, in the Target box, you'll see:

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe"

Now add -image after the quotes so you have:

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

click apply and then double click the icon and let it do what it does... This will download all the most upto date info to your system. Its currently 2.7gb (as I redid it yesterday after the newest update) and depending on your connection, you may want to leave it over night, but its worth it to destroy the downloading before a zone

Oh and when its done, remember to remove the -image tag so you can play
