How GWEN will begin in all the continents?
ReiNaruto
We know that GWEN will begin with the earthshakes through all over the world. In one of that earthshakes the dwarves that are controlling now the sorrow's furnace will discover that some wall/floor has been destroyed and they will access to new areas. Somewhere down there the player will reach de Asura lands. But, what about the other continents? They don't have access to the Furnace.
I think that maybe from Cantha and Elona you will be send to explore a breach that have appeared after a shake, maybe because there are monster getting out of it, or just because the Emperor/Sunspear Leader wants. Exploring that breach you will get to the Asura's Kingdom and by their portals you will be able to get everywhere you want.
Or maybe, you just get something like a passport to get to the Furnace :S I really prefer the other option.
What do you think?

Imho in Tyria earthquake will open passage near loins' arch, because that's the trade and transport hub, every character from other chapter was begining story there. I agree with your thoughts about getting to gwen from cantha and elona, but i think you're not right with portal. I read somewhere they will be used to travel from one dungeon to another, and from depths of tyria we will gain acces to every starting area, asura, norn or charr.

there is a part of the city available to expand on for GWEN if not the entire southern peninsula, and heck other whole islands are there too.
In Elona, there is also plenty of room to expand some areas for GW:EN or other such expansions... If not lets hope for more expansions someday that do... I always thought Cantha had a lot more to offer on its map. lots and lots of space left to expand. And there is always Prey thee to Dwayna the rising someday of Orr??? again lets hope... Hell, that could easily be an expansion for BOTH GW and GW2 if they planned it right...
remember the leaked Preview map is certainly not everything... Its more like what we saw in previous preview map leaks I'm sure... Just the first 4th or 3rd of what is there... Even though its not a full campaign, its obvious there is plenty in there to keep us just as occupied as we were with Cantha at least...

Probably will be a new port in Prophecies with an exit into the beginner dungeon for GWEN. It won't be lions arch, because then people without Proph would have access to Proph areas.

Well, if the story the that a large gate in SF will be found after the quake, at least the Kurzicks have direct access to it.
If you did a few of the quests for the Kurzick, you'll eventually come to a Dredge, who explained they tunneled from SF to the Echovaled Forest. So there is a connection between the continents.
Other than that I have no clue how they'll connect it, since they have to factor in people who don't have all chapters.

Not long ago 3 NPCs were added to the game and then taken out with the next update. These NPCs were Len Caldoron in Lions Arch,Minister of Maintenance Raiugyon in Kaineng Center and Bendah in Kamadan. I would guess these are the NPC which will transport us to areas in the dephs which lead into Eye of the North.
Seissor
Elona - Go to Kamadan, speak to some NPC, click accept, see cutscene of a helicopter touching down, Koss comes out, waves you aboard, you fly over the ocean with some 70s music playing, fly over Tyria and fastrope to some CIA training camp in the northern shiverpeaks.
Canthan - Speak to some NPC in Kaineng City, see a cutscene where Mhenlo drives a fastattack boat up to the docks, he waves you over and you speed off to Tyria under cover of night and land on a jungle beach somewhere in a CIA training camp.
Tyrian - Speak to some NPC in LA, King Ironhammer pulls up in a segway, you climb aboard and think happy thoughts. The segway flies over tyria dodging missiles before crashing somewhere in the shiverpeaks and landing in a tavern full of dwarves - cue dwarven boxing match.
These are all official by the way, im not making it up. Honest. Cross my tail and never lie, omg i love pie.

But yeah probably like the other chapters, an npc quest and we appear in a big city afterwards.

Access points similar to the Vortex in nightfall will probably open up in all 3 campaigns. But it will probably be in the shape of a cave or doorway or something.
I expect you will have to complete a quest to get access to that location, as you do when travelling to a new campaign. All started by NPCs in main locations and they'l probably say something like...
"A hole in the earth has apeared near [blah dee blah], creatures are pouring out and we need a brave explorer to find out what is happening, do you accept?"
It will probably either be near the main captical cities or near the end zones so only high end players can get access. Go kill the creatures (as an intro to the new beasties) and then get a reward from the NPC either in capital or near the incident and then you have the choice to be teleported to the new location.
Quey the cutscene and introduction of new world, people, creatures and storyline.
End result = end up in starter location and do some teachy quests and missions.
How ever they do it, it will have to easy access like when travelling by boat to other continents or islands.

I like the king on a segway option... Maybe it can be a magical cloud like the one in Dragon Ball?
freekedoutfish, I think that you are right a little mission with a few new monsters and you end up in the other expansion, but I still wonder about the story the will use...

If you concider how they usually do it, they just give you an excuse to kill the some new creatures, speak to some new NPCs from the new campaign or expansion, and then reward you with a right to travel to a new location.
Its the same old stuff they did with factions and nightfall.
I think you had to kill plagueborn creatures outside LA to get access to factions, and you had to kill rift creatures in LA to get access to nightfall.
Or im confusing events with campaigns or something.
But thats basically how they do it, and the storyline about why is usually a load of rubbish. Its just "go kill these weird new creatures and investigate where they came from".
But its just about getting you there.

I wish they would skip all the crap and just open a new slot on the Boat:
"Travel to Eye of the North" (or whatever the starting place is).
Otherwise, I have a funny feeling I'll be spending the "sneak peak" just getting my characters to the new areas...

Im sure what ever they do will be fine.

Im sure what ever they do will be fine. I know they won't do that, but I do hope it's not too hard to get there.
I thought getting to Nightfall was a little too complex. After the 4th Character, it gets a little old... (maybe it was the fact I was doing the Olias Quest, too!)

I'd blame the Olias quest as it would add a lil more. Here's an easy thing, come preview, only play with 1-2 characters and dont play with 10 chars inching them closer. Just play away with 1-2.
But you may want to play all 10 chars...I mean...segway king...come on, pure cool.

yeah, I'll probably just do that. I have no idea why I was so obsessed getting all my characters to Elonia ASAP. Most of them haven't even left the starting area!
=HT=Ingram
yea during a preview or a launch for that matter I play 1 character through the whole thing. for a few reasons.
1: so I help with the mapping project.
2: so I have at least 1 character everywhere to help out guildies on tough missions.
3: so I know what to expect on other characters when I take my time doing things for bonuses and HM.
and finally
4: so I have access to end game areas for collector weapons to use on other characters or for equipping heroes... Also for attaining skills quickly.
This time is unique I guess in that the preview is going to let us KEEP our unlockable goodies and progress in game. I'm sure this is because its an expansion and the Preview is more of an early launch then a beta test of new characters... so.... we will see...
As I understand it there is going to be a quest that takes you to the tarnished coast from Elona and Cantha via ship and from there starts the rest of the adventure. Not what we were expecting, but it will boost sales of GW Prophecies with everyone playing around on that map, that does not have the rest of it to see whats there. it will drive them silly and will prob want to go get the original to unlock the rest of (larger part of) that map. lol

In Cantha, there is the Dredge tunnel.
In Elona... well... Elona is actually part of the Tyrian main cointinent. Just go to Crystal Overlook or something.

Know what the end game twist is? The destroyers are really from another planet, and they're in Tyria looking for their leader.....MEGATRON! oh noes!

There would probably be a cave entrance somewhere in the Desolation.
Buster
In Prophecies I think we will be sent near Ice Tooth cave area, I believe thats is as far north as you can go before the map cuts off. In Cantha my guess we will enter from the Echovald Forest, if you follow any lore the Dredge used underground tunnels to travel from Cantha to Tyria. In Elona I will just guess and say somewhere in the Desolation, it really could be anywhere in Elona i guess Its all speculation ofcourse but its kinda fun and exciting wondering how things will start and end in GW:EN.
sindex
One NPC comes to mind from Elona: Bahltek.
ReiNaruto
I hate the echovald forest :P Yes it is connected with furnace, but I would prefer that one of the shakes crash the jade and some of the big worm thingies that was trapped there begins to kill ppl like a crazy-T1000.
Don't you think that will be spectacular to see all the jade crashing, falling to ground and then the worm coming out?
Obviously, it will be a plan of megatron in a segway :P

looking over the cantha map in texmod for new things since the latest patch doesn't reveal anything new...at least anything significant for me to notice in a short glance.
My bet is it will be another person and/or quest that shows up that we'll take the quest from and at the completion of the quest we'll be in GW:EN Territory. My guess is Sorrow's furnace will be the focal point of the quest for Tyria, the big ugly forest spot where the dredges came out of will be the focal point for Cantha...and somewhere in the Crysal Overlook area will be the focal point for Elona. The quests will be like the Olias Quest...you temporarily get taken to an area and there's basically a mini mission you have to do. Which means you wouldn't need to have been to that place before...you just get transported there.

Maybe the hole that was made on earth when you defeat Varesh goes through any of the caves that can access to the furnace :P

Nah, none of the above. There's a tunnel from the Fissure of Woe.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but if you run north from beetletun through watchtower coast, there i a small island which you cannot get on to. if you look on island there is a teleporter. could this be an entrance into tunnels or transport across lake into northern territories? Also, seeing as it's never had any obvious purpose before, how about an entrance from ice tooth cave in anvil rock. Only my second post so sorry if i don't make much sense.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. I had foolishly hoped that with the map expansion, there might be a few changes to the terrain. I'm newer to the game and just uncovered that bit and was like, "Ah-ha!" Surely it must do something...
MSecorsky
Everyone is missing the obvious. In Lions Arch, Kaineng and Kamadan there will be NPCs spamming "Ferrying to the Eye of the North, 500g!"
