If Gwen is a Hero, it will be easy enough to make her a Fast Casting Nuker.

Or use Glyph of Illusion to boost those Fire skills to 16.

Well I think...
Gwen wants to be a warrior and war mesmer outfits...but then she'd have to be a mesmer, but mesmers can't act as warriors unless.....
Gwen is gonna be an IW mesmer/warrior xD *cheer* go gwen! using my fav skill!
And I do hope they make her a hero

abaddon could have played mischief and given her powers
she did go ballistic in betas

she looks right for the age

I hope she will be a hero and and not an enemy we have to fight against( she did hold a grudge in the betas for not saving ascalon)

isnt it interesting that in pre ascalon she was just meant to be there to amuse us...

3 campaigns later people are still obssessed with what happened to her.

Maybe she will remember us from our childhood

Well from the picture of heroes this is my take:

Gwen - Mesmer
Unknown Female - Necro
Jora - Warrior
Dwarf - Monk
Pyro - Ranger
Vekk - Ele
3 Norns - Warrior, choose 1 out of 3
White Charr - Assassin (look at his claws and compare them to onis)
Tengu - Rit (because tengus usually dont wear masks and rits tend to wear masks)
Plant - Dervish (the claws are long and look like scythes, there are dervish plants in Nightfall too)

AND there's no paragon

Just because Gwen is (maybe) a hero and Jora is one, doesn't mean the rest of the characters in that image are all going to be heroes.

Lol I think she should be a hero, who is worth something, because the anogram is her name. And maybe that tapestry shred she gives you in pre-searing will be worth something, for the people who kept it.

I ran across some postings on various forums suggesting that the upcoming Eye of the North expansion would feature the adult version of Gwen, the child in pre-searing Ascalon. This is of course inferred by the abbreviation of the new expansion, Guild Wars: Eye of the North (GW:EN).

Old news, I know. But upon closer examination, we may find additional hints about her part in the upcoming storyline. I ran the game's title: "Guild Wars Eye of the north" through some anagram engines to see if the developers had cleverly disguised any clues about the game in the title.

For those who are unfamiliar with what an anagram is: it is a process of rearranging letters in a given word or phrase to form a new word or phrase, descriptive of the original. An example would be rearranging the letters in "Eleven plus two" and finding they can form "Twelve plus one". Another popular example is the rearrangement of the word "Mother in-law" to "Woman Hitler". They sometimes seem almost prophetic. Anyway, I took the same method and applied it to "Guild Wars: Eye of the North".

The results were a little shocking.

1. Oh Gwen, Adultery or Fetish?
Could this suggest that your character may develop some lascivious relation with the girl.

2. Gwen: Adultery of this hero
Pretty much confirms my suspicions about the first anagram.

3. Holy father is rude to Gwen
She may be smote by the almighty himself in the upcoming expansion.

4. Oh! Retard lousy thief Gwen.
She might jack your shit, watch out.

5. I Gwen the fool, trashy rude.
She's become Paris Hilton.

6. This holy rout Gwen feared.
She becomes evil, journeying to the "Dark-Side"

7. Is the odorful Gwen earthy?
She develops bad B.O.

8. Fishy urethra, Gwen tooled.
I don't know what that means, but when the words "Fishy" and "Urethra" appear in the same sentence, it's never good.

9. New sh*thead or flute orgy?
...Flute Orgy! Wow, aren't you glad you bought her that whistle when she was a kid? Maybe she saw American Pie one too many times.

10. Greedy tw*at, lush of heroin.
She's a crack wh*ore!

11. Gosh! Laid twenty-four here.
She's a compulsive wh*ore!

12. Oh! Their flawed youngster.
She's a disappointment to her parents.

13. Filthy nurse to aged wh*ore.
Not a huge fan of game-based movies, but I'd rent that one.

There seems to be a theme here. What do you guys think?

Slightly more on topic I agree with the beta-ending-story. I wont forget how she killed me there and suspect she will be somehow related to the evil side. And therefore won't be a hero... Unless it is a really happy ending and plot change ("oh, I regret my deeds, please let me join the good side"-sh*t), but I hope it isnt.

I hope the day will arrive soon, when people get the knowledger, that clothing must not have ever have anything to do about what profession someone must be.

Let her have clothes, that look like a mesmer, but act like a monk ... would be fine with me.. or act like an elementalist or warrior ...

why must stupid warriors, regardless if male or female ever look like guarded tanks full of armor until no end ???
why must mesmers ever look like gay retards and rich bitchs ???, and female elementalist, as if they would wait for they next porn movie ?

God !!! people, get more creativity !!!!

WoW, Gwen looks, as if she has the mesmer model .. duh oO has this anything to mean in GW:EN !!!? NO IT HASNT, she can look like a esmer and end up as warrioer, what she most likely wanted to become as child in the pre searing.

I hope too, this retarded thinking of how classes HAVE to look will have an end with GW2

Welcome to Guild Wars. You have to remember, one of the aspects of the Game is PvP where the designers felt that every profession should have a distinct look. That's been obvious throughout each Chapter.

(the only variation is some very Elementalist looking Necro armor, but Necros have such a distinct look anyway with their clawed hands and tilted down head, they are pretty obvious, no matter what they are wearing! )

"When I grow up, I'm going to be a hero like my daddy. I'd like to be a warrior, but the mesmers' outfits are nicer, don't you think?"

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Gwen

That implies some sort of choice. Plus, there's a screenshot out there with Gwen holding a Mesmer off hand. I know what you are saying, but I really don't think Anet is going to screw with their "Profession = clothes" scheme.

Also, keep in mind there will be 10 new heros in GW:EN. That probably means one for each profession. Gwen is a natural fit for Mesmer.

So, it's very possible that this design = profession scheme will not exist in GW2.

Uh, I don't think all those pix are heroes.

The plant is probably a Monster, and why would they 4 Norn warriors? (incl. Jora). No, those male Norn are probably NPCs.

Not sure about the white Charr or the Tengu... a Tengu hero would be cool!

Also, if there was a Tengu hero, does that mean Tengu will be a playable race in GW2?

Anyway, the only confirmed heros are:

Jora - Norn (Warrior?)
Ogden - Dwarf Monk
Pyre - Charr Ranger
Vekk - Asura Ele

Unfortunatly this is Guild Wars we are talking about. Each profession generally uses its own unique style of armor. Unless of course you agree that its all well to run into an axe wielding enemy with only a dress on?

Quote:

Warriors are not going to last long soaking up damage with only pieces of cloth are they? Mesmers on the other hand generally are linked to being nobles so they wear rich Attire. As for Eles well Anet have their reasons

Why make Gwen use the Mesmer model if she was going to be an Ele? in fact why even have seperate models if Anet were going to use another profession on that model?. Hell why make her look like a Mesmer when shes actually going to be a Warrior? some big throw off by Anet?

Anet usually put Professions on their designed model. An example is the Female Necro (supposed Hero). She wears bright armor and has red hair so she was immediatly given the Ele tag. But when you look at her you can see she looks dark (in a good way) and her hands are clawlike.

Remember Master of Whispers? when his screenshot came out he was called an Ele but people then saw his hands....clawlike. And what profession was he when he came out? Necro!.

Not sure about the white Charr or the Tengu... a Tengu hero would be cool! Yeah i think they just mixed up the pictures alittle. Given what we have seen so far i would say the ones up to Vekk are heros and the rest henchmen and Monsters. The White Charr looks like a bad guy to me - possibly an enemy of Pyre Fierceshot. The Tengu remains in mystery. Would be cool for an Assassin hero.

Where i see thoses answers it would interest me in the moment more, where do u people have from the information, how some of those new heroes r called.
How do u now their names, when Anet hadn't announced any names of them yet, or have i got some information overseen oO ??? XD or r they mentioned in a preview video i havent seen yet ???.

Sure, each profession has here a certain style and kind of looking, but this has not to mean, that warrios have only to look ever like huge battle tanks.
U can create too a warrior with much lesser armor wearing, thats much lesser with iron plates and chain armors ect. and let them wear more leather armors like rangers and they can still look like really agile warriors that move not so slow cause of lesser weight of their lesser iron armors ect.
Warriors have not only ever to wear for example bully helms, a warrior can wear too other stuff as head gears like hats, sorts a warrior circlets and so on. such stuff anet mostly puts ever only in a weird manner only as hair styles in, which will disappear then, once u wear the helm.
thats why i say Anet should show us in GW2 more creativity and give us more individuality for our charas, that not every profession looks like a 0815-Copy of someone else, maybe only with some other colors, and an slighly lesser or higher heigth of their chara. There is not ever only BLACK and WHITE... between thoses contrasts are alot of other levels of thinking ... and so is it with lookings of professions too, especially for the warrior which has not too look ever only like a big bad bulldozer...
An agile swordsman for example would never run around with such heavy armors, swordsman would prefer more leather armors, while a warrior with a Hammer, if u rely more on defense, than on agility, than more iron armor is ok.

Must only ever Mesmers be nobles oO has nobility not nothing to do with money and fame ? i think it has, so being a noble isnt something, a warrior can't reach over time.... get more money, get richer and richer with ur warrior and when u act like a hero, do good things, u earn quick ur fame in the world and for the peoples of the world ur then quick a "noble". Everything is kind of how u look at things ... even a warrior can become a thief for example, but still will look like a warrior as long u don't change ur clothes to look like a poor thief... but that r all things, Anet has for sure made never thoughts of, because they made in first sight more a PVP game, then an RPG ... this all here r things, which r more important for logic rpg's and for Anet was it simple for their concept only good enough to say, that every profession will have 1 specific look and no other, because it will save at least time and work, when the graphikers have only to concentrate on 1 kind of look per profession, as when they give each profession more different kinds of possible lookings ... so simple is that ...

A mesmer never needs to worry about fouling ones clothing to dispatch the enemy, unlike the other lesser classes. Consider, since they're in the discussion already, the brutish warrior. Sweating, smelly, exchanging bad breath with their foes... bah, how barbaric. Even the less... cumbersome professions, such as the elementalist, need to perform all these ridiculous gyrations and gestures to get rock, mud, dirt, ice, filth, what-have-you to strike their enemies. But the mesmer? No. We simply will the foe to die and they make the efforts required to comply. No unsightly perspiration, no strenuous gestures, no spilled lattes. Nay, fool, the mesmer epitomizes true nobility. You can cloak a warrior in the finest attire and all you'll have is a well-dressed yet smelly barbarian. You cannot, however, dress a mesmer in the ragged attire of the lesser professions. It just simply isn't proper.

Yes but its Anets way to create a style and then stick to it. In GW2 it will probably chance alot but right now they still follow the trend of wearing heavy armor.

Your going off the point here. Anet gave Mesmers the theme of nobles. Vabbi for example is a Mesmers dream. Its not about how much money you can make ingame. Anet gave each profession a type of theme and they stuck with it. This is the reason Female Mesmers look like "rich bitchs" as you put it.

Of course not every Mesmer is some rich noble. Its just how the profession is shown. Mesmers get pretty dresses,Warriors get heavy armors,Eles get......bikinis.....but moving on.

Gwen has fit the role of Mesmer through several ways.

1. She states she likes the Mesmers clothes (So a possible choice)
2. She uses the same Model as a Mesmer (something that has not failed to be a hint in the past)
3. She dresses as a Mesmer.

Another thing (purely a theory on my part) is i notice how the EotN heros mostly seem to be the opposite gender of the Nightfall ones that didnt include 2 genders. So for example Koss and Goran are male Warriors and Jora is the female opposite.

Same can be said for Pyre (Magrid and Jin). Master of Whispers and Olias take up the role of the Male Necros and here we have a (better looking)Female one. Vekk of course is an exception...well atleast i think its an he?

So if Gwen is to be a Mesmer Hero she would be the female opposite of the male Mesmer hero Norgu

Anyway in a month we will find this out once and for all.

Yes, but there's a BIG difference between Glad armor and what Gwen is wearing...

Look, I'm not arguing with you that fundamentally it's a little silly to have all professions wearing similar armor. We're just saying that's the way Anet does it, and it's doubtful to change in GW:EN.

Maybe in Guild Wars 2 you will get your wish to have a warrior wearing an elegant gown!

There was a GW:EN event for the press (7th August), and one journalist who attended has posted some screenies from it. They are here. Look closely, and you can see what profession Gwen is (it is written as text, not deduced from her appearance). In another shot you can also see whether she is a hero, or just an NPC.

Gwen is now without a doubt a Hero Alice. I would say the reason we never see her in action in any videos is because Anet want to keep the hero part a suprise (although players pretty much guessed she was a hero months ago)
