As the title suggests, I was wondering what sort of build I can use with a swordy >_> in HM in Elonia. I was using my usual swordy build in HM in Istan and that was fine. But at Vabbi I'm having difficulty, as well as knowing what heroes and henchies I should use >_>
MM, SF and one Prot for heroes <_<
Should a swordsman be offensive or more defensive?

Your usual sword build will work as long as its a good one. You should post what you have. A warrior should always be offensive. Anything too defensive is a waste of a team slot.
A friend and I got Tyrian Guardian with no MM since most mobs will kill the minions way too fast for them to be worth it. Her build was purely offensive build with no selfhealing. Try something like this:
[skill]Dragon Slash[/skill][skill]Sever Artery[/skill][skill]Gash[/skill][skill]Standing Slash[/skill][skill]Enraging Charge[/skill][skill]Flail[/skill]
My friend was actually using Necrosis for the optional slot at a max sunspear rank - 90 armor ignoring damage can easily outdamage a 42+ attack skill. It becomes very useful against high armor or distant targets, but you also might wanna use an interrupt or some other utility skill.
Don't automatically go x/Mo thinking a hard res is better. While many people think that, a team in HM needs multiple Res sigs (or Sunspear rebirth sig). Sometimes when someone dies, you need them back up as fast as you can, especially if its a monk. Hard res in midbattle is usually bad.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm... how I say this.. semi new, had the game for along time (9 months) Proph only, and this year I got Factions and Nightfall on sale >_>
And discovered them, haven't touched Factions yet, went to Elona, my friends were there >_> and I've got limited skills. I was using the lame Wammo build,
Sever artery, Gash, Galrath slash, final touch, hundred blades, sprint and 2 other skills depending on some areas.
I was thinking that Crippling Slash, Gash, Enraging Charge, Flail might be useful >_>
As for Heroes, what staples would you recommend?
BTW: how do I make those symbol things, the skill set

Drop Hundred Blades, it sucks. You should visit Cantha to cap Quivering Blade or Dragon Slasr (preferrably Dragon)....those are much better sword elites.
For heroes, I often used 2 monks when doing hm. 1 prot and heal. The 3rd is usually a Searing flames ele but that can change sometimes.
To do a skill template thing: [ skill ] skill name here [ /skill ] only put spaces for the skillname

This is what I usually use
16 Sword
10-11 Tactics
about 8 in STR
[skill]flail[/skill][skill]"Watch Yourself!"[/skill][skill]Whirlwind Attack[/skill][skill]galrath slash[/skill][skill]Silverwing Slash[/skill][skill]dragon slash[/skill][skill]lion's comfort[/skill][skill]enraging charge[/skill]
Some people dont like Whirlwind Attack but its a cyclone for any weapon and it builds up adrenaline quickly enabling you to hit all adjacent targets and dealing extra damage.
Build is simple, use a Furious sword for maximum effect, start use skills from left to right, once Dragon Slash is used, it should recharge your entire bar again.
Either use Enraging Charge as your Opening attack to build Adrenaline or use it when battle is over or if you need to move to cancel Flail

Shield's up is very sexy occasionally. And honestly...save yourselves is a must have if the fighting is close up

the duration on [skill]"Shields Up!"[/skill] is too short. The same effect can easily be reproduced with a +10 vs Piercing shield.
The two most shields I use most commonly are:
16AR +10AR vs Slashing +30 Health
16AR +10AR vs Piercing +30 Health
90% of physical damage you will receive falls into one of these two categories so I double up for maximum effect.
I recommend any good Warrior to invest some time and money in acquiring or making one of these shields, they will be invaluable to you. Just remember, Warriors = Slashing, Rangers and Assassins = Piercing. Most Assassin weapons are piercing but sometimes you will find some slashing

Thanks for all the replies. I'll give the skills a try.
