Re-Installing GW

Hi before installing GW on a new computer which file's should i copy over to stop me having to download all the patches again.

I believe one of these files was
GW.dat

are there any others

i think you should also copy the gw.exe app, as i have to everytime its updated for the double client thing. not sure though.

Gw.dat, Gw.exe, Gw.tmp. That's all GW

In general I just move/backup the whole GW folder.

Ditto. The .dat file is the big part, and the rest of the folder is so tiny in comparison you may as well just keep the whole lot. That way you'll definitely not miss anything...

odd....just finished transfering the files and when i try to start GW it says:

"Unable To Open Archive File

Guild Wars is unable to acess its archive file C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\GW.dat. Please verify that this file is accessible and writable, and that no other program is currently using it."

tried restarting and have checked file permission, any ideas?
