Preorder Items
fowlero
hey,
i added the preorder pack key thing (for EotN) a couple days ago after being surprised to see it in game, since i thought it was only released today.
after adding it i was told nothing, and figured i'd have to wait til today (the 20th, which is when anet said it would be out) to get my items.
but still nothing? what do i have to do to get my items or are they still not out yet??
cheers

On GW.com they say that the items will become available when you add the GW:EN package key to it. ANd that will only be available at the end of august.
So that could be it.
So that could be it.

lol my bad, got the wrong end of that stick xD

Wait what? the items are only availible at end of august?
Sounds strange for PRE-release items

Same way they've handled the two previous releases... Having the pre-release pack gives you perks, but it doesn't give them to you early. (With the exception that you usually get to be one of the first people with access to the new content on the day it is released)
Cormac
the weapons in the nightfall pre order were available to create when you got it even before the game was released only the extra char slot needed the retail key

I'm sure when I received my preorder key in the post for Nightfall I could add it and immediately create and use the preorder items before the full game was released, same with factions if I remember correctly.

No way, when I tried I just got some 'you do not have access to that feature yet' kind of message. :P Not that I would have used them at the time, but dang.

Maybe it's because you can actually use these weapons effectively now. The daggers, Rt staff, scythe and spear were all for classes not released before the chapter was released. The attributes the GW:EN weapons require already exist. I dunno why this matters but maybe this has something to do with it.
fowlero
yeah i was a bit surprised tbh.
seems the pre order pack has been released a month before it'll be any use
i was sooo up for that sword lol, ah well wait i shall
EDIT: highly unlikely but maybe they're attributed to the lore in GW:EN somehow

Everyone that don't understand here is the way it works.
1st. it's a pre-order not a pre-release you are buying. Meaning you will get it once it's released (that's why you paid a cheaper price).

actually the product i bought clearly reads on the side
"Guild Wars Eye of the North Pre-Release Bonus Pack"
so that logics a bit flawed

and can you not pre order in the store

so i could get the bonus back thats pretty stupid basicly if you want pre order and bonus mission you got to waste $70
and can you creat those items more then once cause its not like you can sell/salvage them
and it is a pre-release your buying the game before it out they never stated when you would get your items you also get to play in the beta
fowlero
you can create pre order items as many times as you want.
yeah i'm just a bit miffed as to why they've done it differently this time, seeing as like others have said, factions and NF items were available upon entering the code.

My guess is the items have not actually been created yet, so they can't give you what doesn't exist.
fowlero
they're now available xD

Hm, I might have to buy it now, not sure what excites me more though...the pre-release items or the bonus missions for buying online. Hmmm a tie perhaps?
S_Serpent
