Yeah the DirectSong-Display in the Options... If you press F11, go to Sound, than you should have a DirectSong-Symbol there what shows you if DirectSong is played or not. And this Symbol isnt there for me =((

In what order did you install the direct song music?

Did you use the installers from the DS site?

You can also try downloading and running the DirectSong Register program in your music directory to make sure that the music was registered.

http://www.directsong.com/zip/Regist...gDirectory.exe

You can also try downloading and replacing the GuildWars.ds and ds_GuildWars.dll file:

And OK ill try the replacing-files

EDIT: I tried it, and nothing, it still doesnt appear under Sounds

The problem is caused by the latest update. For some strange reason the directsound engine isn't being launched by the client. I am sure the devs will start to realize this soon. In the meantime, you'll have to launch it manually yourself. On your GuildWars shortcut, right click and then click on properties. In the Target section, you should see something like "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe". At the end of that add -dsound to launch the direct sound engine. So your Target should end up looking like "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -dsound. This should work.

Well, I have the directsound icon in f11 but it's saying it isn't playing the additional music. Using target -dsound hasn't worked for me. If it is an update problem, I hope this gets sorted out soon.

I had the same problem, and the -dsound fixed it. I still have no icon though... And yes, it is part of the latest update. It should get sorted out soon.

I think the icon disappeared on my GW with the latest updates too. Plus EAX got messed up as well.

ds_guildwars.dll and guildwas.ds need to be in your directsong folder.

Also try deleting your crash.dmp and gw.tmp files, those arn't needed by the client.

What is the folder structure of your directsong directory?

I had to rebuild my guildwars.ds to get it to work. However the latest update has had no effect, Direct song works fine.

When running RegisterDirectSongDirectory.exe on Vista+ make sure you run it as an administrator. Otherwise it does not create the registry key in the correct location for GW to find it.
