You would be up the creek as the lag may not even be their problem

Also if they helped you then they would have go give everyone else a second chance too. I know it sucks.

I stopped playing my survivor for just that reason....there isnt much you can do sorry. (I do feel for you, I have a level 1 survivor that I wish to get to level 2, but fear of the lag bug has kept her at a stand still for the last few months.--though I pushed it today and capped 2 skills with her and got another 20k xp it will be a very long slow trip to level 2)

If you're having lag issues, you could try staying out of such risky areas with your survivor. Play it a bit safer.
If you're only out 15 hours, I'm guessing you were farming? Try playing the game through normally, using quests and skill caps.
My Survivor took me 110 hours, so yes, it's much slower (though it can be done in much less - I took it slow), but it's much safer. I got it first try, and without a single near-miss, even on my dodgy connection.
I wanted to do it that way, because I knew that if I lost the title it would be because I messed up, and not because my connection did. Plus it was much more interesting.
