I really enjoy guild wars, but one thing ive never been able to do is farm properly due to having ranger as my warriors secondry proffesion.
Im going to most probably make a new character, get it ran to droks then powerleveled (got lots of money, no point in not spending it ), but i think there will be some problems with that, like skills, would i have to get ran to loads of different places for skills?
1: Anyway, if i were to do that, and also get ran places for skills, what would be the best most effective way to farm the trolls outside droks?
2: Where is the best place to farm? Has the trolls been nerfed or anything? Do you still get decent green drops or anything there?
3: Is it worth it any more? I no farming used to be a way of making hundreads of thousands of gold, but i hear its been nerfed completely and running is where the moneys at now.
4: If i dont make a character, and get my current W/R's secondry proffession changed to monk, can that farm large numbers of trolls successfully?
Thansk to anyone that answers.
Never farmed before, some questions

Try the following threads as your starting point -
1. What is Farming? A Guide For Beginners
2. Solo Farming, list of builds
Your character's secondary can be changed at any time once you've Ascended, no need to start from scratch.
Troll farming with a W/Mo is not a good way to make money these days. With the introduction of Hard Mode we also got loot scaling, meaning you'll make about 1/8th from a troll run than was previously possible. You'll get mostly crap whites, troll tusks and the occasional purple and gold drop. No greens drop from the Trolls so give up on that idea. If you insist on creating a Troll farmer, try this build if you have Prophecies + Factions + Nightfall. There's a crappier build at the top of that thread, it'll work if you've only got Prophecies.
If you've completed the final mission in Prophecies, you'll have access to Hard Mode and much more profitable farming. If you're keen on a W/Mo build, try farming Elementals outside Sardelac Sanctuary in Hard More. You won't get any greens there either, but you'll get some gold items and might pick up an elite Warrior or Elementalist tome, they still go for about 10K.
A better way to make money as a Warrior is to farm the UnderWorld for Globs of Ectoplasm. There are many builds in this forum, Warrior / Dervish is a good starter build.
In my view, the most flexible ways to farm are with any of the 55HP Monk builds, 55HP Necro / Monk or for a more advanced build, the 105HP / 330HP Ritualist / Monks.
You'll find all these builds and more on the first few pages of this forum. Just do a little reading and choose your poison. Also try PvX Builds, there are plenty of farming builds listed.

Thansk to anyone that answers. For prophecies u can get run almost everywhere and use tomes but asking a friend or guildie for mission or area runs seems cheaper.
Maybe you could try UW smite runs or check the warrior build submissions( I only use SS, learning 55 UW, trapper, 105/55 farming and Rit/me for stonereaper but have tried dervish + ranger fow farming)
Farming can be good if yo get req9-11 items and perfect mods but the most expensive run u can do is droks or a game run (LA to Ascalon or through missions) I think.
Trolls dont drop much gd stuff anymore due to drop scale (more than 3 at a time reducing drops)
I hope that answered some questions

Cant you get your proffession changed in sunjis corner if i take my character over to factions? Then just bring him back? But then i still have to get ascended to farm in the underworld dont i?

I have a Tyrian Elementalist / Assassin green farmer that has not Ascended, but has become Closer to the Stars by completing Nahpui Quarter. He's also reached Sunspear Sanctuary in Nightfall but has yet to Ascend in Prophecies.
He can change his secondary at Senji's Corner but to reach the attribute levels suggested in the builds, you need the two 15 point attribute quests that are only available once Ascended.
Not sure about UW access, haven't tried with the E/A.

Finish Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall with a Monk, Warrior, Necro, Elementalist and Ritualist to open up all locations for all popular farming builds in HM
No one build can do it all but if i had to pick i'd choose Monk because Mo/W, Mo/Me, Mo/N and Mo/D are all viable secondaries with broad application.
