was doing Xandra's quest in the norn area and hit the ";" to see if I had missed any drops when this chest came up.......incidentally its been one of the 2 that gave me a gold item! (didnt have to fight it either, it gave its gold staff up willingly )

Are you sure that text wasn't coming from a different npc, maybe one on the other side? This guard could have been in frony on the other side quite a few feet away. It may have just looked like she was saying that. Sometimes it looks like one character is saying something when they really are not. (hard to explain kinda)
