Tome Archives Service concept request.
cost: 100 Plat
Tome Archives Librarian
Purchase Tomes with skill points
{Buy}
Select class with drop down box
Normal Tome for 5 skill point
Elite Tome for 10 skill points
No sell option, at this time...
but that could be implemented to control tome pricing levels in the future...
I do not suggest allowing tomes to be purchased with gold. Just trading skill points for tomes for a quick skill you need on a character build that you already have unlocked.

Request: Tome Archives Service for Halls

thats a good point. I'll amend that now.
I know that Anet is kinda wrapping up efforts on GW original with the expansion. However I really think this particular service is something that would be of great benefit to all involved in the community. The coding for this should not be too much more complex then a rune trader script with a delimiter on the skill point field rather then gold. The hardest thing we can see is the design of the NPC, and the placement coordinates in each hall. But I know that it is something all Guild and Alliance leaders would desire for their halls.

Bad idea for one reason: think about all of the farmers who have 500+ skill points - they'll convert their skillpoints directly into gold, that's something that arenanet is trying to slow as much as possible.
Implement a Tome Trader, ala the dye trader, to make the tome market efficient (right now you can buy elite tomes for 5k and resell for 15k) and call it quits there. Anything else rewards power farmers too much.

The Tomes have no value with any traders, so the wealth would just be redistributed between players. Then as the Tomes are consumed, wealth would be leaving the economy.

edit: { That actually brings up a really interesting point - the reason there's no auction house is that having one would make gold generation 1000x more efficient, you'd be able to sell anything and everything without much effort thus freeing up your time to go back and grind more loot. Basically this would scale like crazy for professional gold farmers, they wouldn't have to shout all day to sell their valuable drops for money they could auto-sell with the auction house - it's why trade in GW is manual and won't change to any other method }
The problem with a tomes for skillpoints trader is that you can then sell the tomes to other people, which means that anyone with lots of skillpoints (including professional gold farmers) can then turn their skillpoints directly into gold.
This would be a cool idea if the tomes were customized for either the character or account they were created on.
