I have recently come across a Runic Shield with +5 energy (only 6 armor) req 4 tactics. I always belived there was no such thing till I got one. Is there a use for this shield? or should i just sell it to the vender or a player.

I bought a key with the Chimeric Prism because I thought there was no such shield. It has 16 armor and 5 energy though at Strength 8. Or 8 armor 8 energy at 8 divine favor.

its a collector item from old ascalon, hardly worth anything since u trade in 5 collector items for this.
It used to be a common scam to sell this for a high price and say it was some very rare shield.... since many people never go to the collector

Not entirely useless - my new derv's Koss is using this very shield atm (since he starts out at lvl 2 if you're playing a NF char) until he can graduate to the AL14 +27H req 6 Str one that's waiting for him.

A good solution to make a +5energy shield with the skin you like is they would release a new inscription with +5energy and -xx armor. What do you guys think?

I was thinking of that too, it would be cool. Maybe not a -xx armor (why you wanna use a shield than?) but just in the place where the +30HP normally is. (dunno how its called, I think 'core').
That way it wouldn't be THAT overpowered I think. If it's a inscription itself (like +10 AL vs xxx etc) I think it would be.

Nah, if it was a +5 inscription for shields it would just replace the -damage reduction, fair game i guess. Anet should do it.

If they added a mod for shield with +5 energy it would most certainly be a Shield Handle, replacing the health mod, making the shield on par with Chimeric Prism, just with an inscription. Otherwise Everyone would be using +30hp +5e shields.
