Hall of Monuments and how multiple characters effect it
Nevin
Okay, so this is what I've gathered from watching all the videos and what not, reading the interviews as well. Hall of Monuments will immortalize your achievements (titles) in one way or another. Two questions for Gaile or anyone.
1. Does each character get an individual hall of monuments?
2. Does having the same title (ex: Protector of Tyria) on more then one character allow for any other form of benefit in GW2 when entered into the hall of monuments through each character?
Thanks in advance.

theres already a bunch of threads about this. if they don't have the answers why would your thread be any different?

Here's what I know about the Hall of Monuments:
1. You won't be able to transfer items or gold to GW2
2. It will exist in GW:EN
3. No matter what it actually turns out to be, what is needed to create it, how it works, etc. Not everyone will be happy with it and there will be several threads created here and other fan sites complaining about it.

My best honest guess is that...
1. Each character will get their own HoM...with their own seperate achievements. It would be a place on the map.
OR...
2.Pressing H with bring up all the things it currently does...but with a portal to HoM. Going to HoM would be like the guild hall, you can invite people to guest and come see your stuff. Its like your own personal space. All of your achievements for ALL of your characters, including PvP and PvE would be included. PvP achievements like rank 3, gladiator, etc..and obviously PvE achievements.
Numero Dos has to be my favorite idea...even if it doesn't come true. Personally I think it be really cool to deck out your own HoM with your own music, flooring, trophies, and even perhaps minigames. I really hope Anet goes to town and makes HoM as important looking has they've made it sound. Most importantly, I'd want my HoM to be UNIFIED, meaning that all my characters have access to it anywhere at anytime, just like the guild hall. I wouldn't want to spend my time customizing it for all of my characters. And having it for PvP people would be a great bonus, considering that there aren't going to be many changes for PvP players when GW:EN finally arrives.

I thought it was confirmed every Character got their own HoM.
It's not?
It's not?

1.) I think it'll be account based, with all your character's titles and stuff in one place, since GW won't be transfered.
2.)I think that the rewards with just be the same. maybe a double.

Okay so how about this, If Protector of Tyria title = A cool sword skin in GW2..What if I entered it into HoM on three separate characters each with Protector of Tyria?
Sleeper Service
I can't see them linking more than one GW1 char to a GW2 char. After all the only reason GW2 chars will gain benefits from the HoM is because they are your decendancy.

I was expecting something like this to. The HoM is supposed to be a place where you show off YOUR achivements and, people with their "achivements" spread throwout multiple characters will have their HoM lost impact.
Dramatization :
"..."
"<Player>: Wait here now while I login with my other char to show you the rest of HoM."
"<Friend>: hmmm .. ok"
Having multiple characters its a achievement by it self, isn't?
I personally will not be much affect by this decision because, only after HoM was announced I started going for titles. And, fortunately I decide to only use one of my characters for that.
What I am interest in knowing his how will the HoM translate to GW2...
Have fun,

Sophitia Leafblade
Each one will have its own HoM, im guessing its going to be linked on your characters name eg. Sophitia Leafblade's achievements will appear in the hall of Sophitia Leafblade II in Gw2 whos suposally her decentant, although Sophitia Leafblade I is still wondering where this Mr Perfect is to start a family with
Even if the decendant its primarily of a different species it would be presumed they are still decendants, but with some inter-species breeding going on. Soph already has plans for her childrens names such as Celest Leafblade and Lianna Leafblade (named after Sophs good friends).

I think of my characters as a family (they all have the same surname). So to me, a global monument would make much more sense.
Sophitia Leafblade
They might be a family but do they all get on? I mean have you EVER seen of them in the same room together talking nicly? I doubt it, in which case i conclude they infact dont get on at all, and so all descendants will carry this dislike of the other family branches and so wont care about the "earnings" of there other distant relatives except from their favourite Hero aka. their great great great GrandParent who saved the world numerious times.
Not to mention in inconcistancy of each once having stoped Nightfall themselves, how would you know which one Actually did stop Nightfall?

None of them - Nightfall was a projected illusion conjured up by the mesmers to hide what was *really* happening.
ParanoidDenny
Will it be possible to have my character now go into the HOM then use a different name in GW2?

Exactly the same here mate... All my chars share the same surname with the exception of my Assasin.
Global would be better.

If you look at screenies and vids of the HoM it shows the 15k armor on display and it looks like whats on display comes from several classes.

So what would guardian of tyria get you?
What would legendary guardian get you?
What does legendary cartographer get you?
What does legendary skill hunter get you?
An oober big sword with an oober rare skin?
The point being, that GW2 wont have any benefits for GW1 titles. Its purely nurstalgic, and a way to carry over titles that you spent months and years attaining.
Even weapons that you transfer probably wont be as good as any weapons you get in GW2. Chances are the GW2 weapons will be buffed up compared to anything from GW1.
But even if they did give benefits to maxed titles from GW1, then where do they draw the line? Give a reward for every GW1 maxed title or just the odd few?
What if you have a maxed title with no benefit, while another person does?
It best to just leave the titles from GW1 as something nice to look at in GW2 with no benefit to them. Just learn to accept that GW2 is a new game, and you will have to start from scratch with no advantage over anyone else.

From what was said on the Video from that german site, Its not just titles that give u "rewards" in Gw 2, Heros uve unlocked, Weapons uve "unlocked" (huh? since when did we unlock weapons?) Armour uve "unlocked" (another huh?) Also its not mentioned weither its all titles, some titles or Even Max titles that give rewards! For all we know just getting tier 1 for a title could be the requirement for the "reward"

I'm guessing it has more to do with the PvP unlocks from tolkano the PvP rewards guy for the Armour art and Weapon art unlocks, but I could be wrong

From what i understood, the PvP rewards wheren't offically unlocked, but where rather "aquired"? (thats from what i heard, since i havnt actually bothered to use any reward points myself, so i could be wrong there)

in reality, all it does is change the skin of the item you want to change... so instead of a short sword skin, whenever you make a sword from the J menu, it creates it with whatever skin you have unlocked instead...
but yeah, that was just my theory and I'm looking forward to seeing how it works
