Currently Ive got the General running a build like this:

He synergises well with my 2 SF ele heroes i take as he can maintain burning on most enemies and [card]"They're on Fire!"[/card] pretty much constantly, whilst providing energy and healing through the chants and shouts.
My main issue is [card]Signet of Synergy[/card], would it be worth swapping this out for [card]Finale of Restoration[/card]? Does the hero AI and quick decision making make this a viable swap?
Any advice on the entire build is also welcome.

That's pretty close to what I run and Morgahn is usually the last one out on a wipe. Try capping [card]Song of Restoration[/card], it rocks instead of [card]Cruel Spear[/card] for your elite.
You may also want to add [card]"Go for the Eyes!"[/card] for the crit hit and [card]Disrupting Throw[/card] for interrupts as your Para hero is probably in it more for support than damage.
I sometimes use [card]Anthem of Flame[/card] and [card]Blazing Spear[/card] to fan the flames of the SF eles.

I capped [card]Song of Restoration[/card] a while ago and morgahn uses that instead of cruel pear now. I kept [card]Signet of Synergy[/card], as the specific spike heal is a nice complement to the hench monks.
I also dropped his spear mastery significantly, and boosted his motivation to 16, leadership to 14. He makes large groups of melee monsters in HM more managable as long as they focus on a tank with [card]Blazing Finale[/card] on them.
