Just an interesting observation I made from the trailer. If you pause it at approximately 1:30 you can see a warrior figure holding what appears to be a "magma/volcano weapon set" The figures hands also appear to be made of a glowing red material.

What could this mean? Perhaps warriors are getting a nice set of armour? Or maybe weapons now affect the body(in this case the hands) of those who wield them? No matter if it means anything or not, it will be interesting to see if this is a player obtainable thing, or an "npc only" characteristic.(much like the elementalist around the campfire in post searing ascalon.) Very nice graphic design nevertheless Arenanet.
(Terribly sorry if this has been implemented into the game already, I have been away from guild wars for a few months)
EDIT@ Vilaptca, Sorry! I thought it was a dervish at first(I actually thought that sword was a scythe when I first saw it play) I guess I just got caught up in the moment of editing when writing this thread (hence why the thread is stupidly called " New Possible Magma armour?" instead of "New Possible Magma Weapon Set?"
New Possible Magma armour?

The same gloves were shown pn the E3 EotN Presentation (an Ele wore them on the character selection screen). Its suspected these gloves are part of thre stand alone rare armor sets the GW website was talking about.
A armor leak last week showed these same gloves on a warrior alongside 3 other sets of gloves (crystal, earth and "glowy")
So it looks like its cross profession and how its obtained...well we will have to find out. And whats with everyone thinking the player shown on the pic is anything but a Dervish?

I remember reading that there would be unique stand alone armor sets in addition to the 40 new armours. I did see a image of a female ranger with glowing, earth, crystal and magma gloves also. This probably means that each class will have a similar armour piece for their hands. It will look nice no doubt, but I'm sure there is practical use for them.
One possible theory on these gloves that I ascribe to, is their ability to add additional elemental damage to your weapon without truly altering the weapon. So a weapon with a +20% Sundering, Vamp, or Zealous mod would also have say
Magma Gloves, Fire damage
Earth Gloves, Ebon damage
Chrystal Gloves, Cold damage (I think these are Ice gloves not Chrystal)
Glow Gloves, Lighting damage
You can have some unique dual element situations as well, creating some unique builds, granting a PvE player with dual mod options. This is just a theory of course.
PERSONAL NOTE: Boy I hope they have PvE only Leadership shields for paragons....
SIDE NOTE: And whats wrong with a Dervish having a shield and axe, I see this type of build in game with pure Mysticism builds all the time. Cyclone Axe Dervish FTW!

Glow Gloves, Lighting damage I would be very surprised if this was the case, as it would make ebon/fire/cold/lightning weapon upgrades pretty useless, and I don't see how "dual element" would work at all.
I always assumed that they're purely a novelty item. I hope they have an armor rating identical to your classes' gloves though so you can wear them without hurting yourself.

I'm thinking the new "hands" might be a new spell effect that are simply handled like equipment pieces in the game engine. Or else they might just be using modified player character models as new enemies, and are using special parts like that to make them a little more exotic. A similar technique was used in the original Neverwinter Nights. It makes it much easier to make enemies with varying appearances but a common theme (as the alternative is making a separate model for each variant of that enemy).

Another thought I had about them is that they could be related to the new races we are going to see.
Magma Gloves -> Charr (they do have a strange connection to fire)
Earth Gloves -> Dwarves (for obvious reasons)
Crystal Gloves -> Norns (is seem to remember they live in the mountains where they could have some ice magic things like the Charr do with fire)
Glow Gloves -> Asura (they are magical creatures so they could make things glow)

If anyone wants to bet on it, I'm all up for it. I'd bet it's the other way around. Like someone else mentioned the "crystal" gloves are likely ice. And the glowing ones could represent air.

I'm gonna bet on those armor thingyes giving some bonus needed in dungeons.
Magma -> being able to ressist those huge fireballs a bit better or perhaps make it possible to run trough lava unharmed?
Crystal -> most likely defense vs cold and well perhaps freezing enviroment effects?
glowy -> air defense fo some sort i think
Earth -> more defense vs huge boulder traps and falling stones?
all speculations but i would like if they'd place something like this in GW:EN

Well, for the Magma one, Charcoal, and Granite Slab will probably be used. (I gots to start faming for those.. Hmm..)
Glittering Dust, Scales, Iron, and probably something else. I would like to see a use for Diamonds, Monsterious Claw/Eye/Fangs, and Spiritwood Planks. Few uses for these materials thus far I have seen. Or maybe they'll come up with new things for us to farm. :-\
But, the safest bet is to start stocking up on all common materials, and stock up on some unwidly used rare materials. I'm in agreenment that Diamonds are finally going to get a use. ;-)

I have a massive stock pile of Ignots, tanned hide squares, cloth, etc, because you just know it's going to take a massive leap in value once Eye of the North is released and everyone is scrambling to get the new armour.
I have a few runes of Superior Vigor too.
