Yes another HoM question.

I have been reading some of the post but i have a question about the HoM. Say i start GW2 and i have a nice HoM but i wabt to go back to the old game and get another title. WIll it upload to GW2 once i got the title in GW1? Will we be able to go back and do more at any time?

At this time, from what I have read, you should be able to go back and add/upgrade to next tier of the title for your HoM after GW2 comes out.
How it will update or work exactly...I can't answer that for you.

I also seem to remember that being the case, which begs another question specifically relating to items such as pets.
Assuming GW2 has been released and both games are playable at the same time.......
One of the rewards for example might be that if you take the 2 gold first year mini pets into the hall, you get a gold exclusive mini pet in GW2.
Now can I - load up GWEN - head of to the hall - present my pets, log off load up GW2 grab my exclusive pet - Log off, Load up GWEN take back my pets and sell them or transfer them to another character, go back to the HOM......and so on and so forth.
Either the pets have got to stay permanently in a special storage area in GWeN and if they are removed, the GW2 item vanishes as well Or......there is a big problem.
Same applies for other items. If once you have 'claimed' your GW2 reward, the original item can be taken away, everything of value in the current game will become worthless.
If it can't and has to stay in HOH - you won't be able to use any of those items in game anymore.
So unless the designers have come up with some very clever method I cannot think of, HOM is going to ruin GW.

Well i dont think the devs are that stupid... if u looked properly at the articles it states that the the HoM records things that u get "unlocked". So i dont even think u will need to sacrifice your rare skins at or all or even have to deposit them in there.

That works fine for armour because its personalised, but what about weapon skins and pets? you're saying that as soon as you "aquire" (and I'll came back to that) a rare weapon skin or pet it gets unlocked? As I originally said, if that IS the case, you can then give or trade your rare skin or pet for another one so that you can unlock that as well - rinse and repeat and everything of value is worthless as everyone swaps rare stuff to unlock it.
So what does "aquire or unlock" mean - again easy for armours as they are personalised but what about weapons? Does it unlock for the first person who gets it as loot - or can the same crystalline sword be passed on/sold and unlocked by multiple people? again if so It becomes worthless.
Same for pets - unlocked for the original owner only or can they be bought unlocked and then sold?
The ONLY way that I can see that HOM will work for non personlised items is that when you take items in for unlocking, they are 'destroyed' rendering them unusable again in GW1.
'Destroyed' might mean turned into a statue, buried, taken up into the celestial realm, whatever... the point is you will get a warning message 'This item is about to be (insert term for destroyed here) and when you commit, its gone and you get your GW2 unlock - its a one way ticket.

I think that you are a little off base when you say that everything will be worthless with the HoM.
If all it is, is a picture of a floating celestial sword that does nothing other than look cool then it still has value for the character to use. I feel that the weapon, armor, mini unlocks will just be a small picture/floating holagram of the unlocked items you chose to display. This means that there will be people hooking up with friends and just trading items back and forth to unlock them but that will happen no matter what.
I feel that the weapons, minis, and armor unlocks will do NOTHING for you other than look cool. The only things that will matter are titles, which only that person can work on.

I don't think anything unlocked in GW2 from the HoM will give any game benefits.
It will all be cosmetic, including Titles. (unless, of course, they make some sort of unique skills based on Titles in GW2, but that would be a HUGE mistake IMO).
As for keeping people from switching Items, the easiest solution will to have everything customized when it's entered into the HoM.
However, I still have no idea how they will handle mini-pets, since Anet has never implemented Customization of mini-pets in the past.

The poster above has another suggestion that stops items being freely traded after they have been used.
The worthless aspect only happens if items can be traded/sold/given to friends once they have been used to unlock GW2 items.
At the other extreme, if items are customised or made non usable in some way, prices are going to Rocket as virtually every mini pet and rare weapon is for all intents and purposes removed from the current game.
There are only 3 ways items can be registered in HOM:
Taken/destroyed/customised - prices will rocket for pets and rare skin weapons (I mean really rocket)
In some kind of storage - open to abuse after GW2 is out (see first post)
You get the item back - Prices will fall drastically as people swap items to register them.
I can't think of any other possible method and the outcomes for all methods will have a big impact on the current game.

Yeah, buying Mini-pets right now is a real gamble.
Either the price will skyrocket after GWEN, or plummet.
Of course, the cool thing about mini-pets is they keep coming every year. So, eventually the prices will drop again even if they go sky high immediately upon release.
I figure if the prices jump, I'll just store the mini-pets I currently have.
If they drop, then I'll be getting a complete collection for (hoepfully!) very cheap.

Selling mini pet Varesh 100k+100 ectos anyone?

I don't see why this drop in price from the "scan and get back" alternative would occur. Miniatures are only useful now to "show off", this use will continue to be valid in GW1 whislt there are still a reasonable number of people playing. I don't see why it wouldn't be - buy it for current market price, scan it, sell it for a very similar price to that you payed. Once you have sold it again you can no longer use it to "show off" in GW1. There will still be similar numbers of each miniature and they will still be just as desirable.
If player numbers decline drastically at some point then this may become true, but then we would see some kind of major shift in the economy anway so it would be very difficult to predict the real effect.

1. your GW2 unlocked mini pet, that exotic hard to get very wanted mini pet will be customized to the GW2 character/account that inherits it and you will not be able to sell them for a GW2 fortune (as per the dev flat statement tha the HOM contents would not give an advantage over a new GW2 player)
a stack of rare pets worth millions would be a big advantage so it is out for sale/trade in GW2
2. a pet will go into the HOM once to prevent mini pet pass around and the devs said you could still use the items so i figure it will customize whatever goes in.
figure the festival hat maker mini pet version perhaps

I think that making them custimised is a bit harsh.... it may do somthing like when u scan it in white writing at the botom of the description it will say "Scaned" so it cant be scaned again...
Hey... just an idea

Remember also the unlocking system we already have - for skills, runes and weapon upgrades. Only the account on which a particular upgrade is identified gets the unlock. I suspect the HoM will work in a comparable way.
There will most likely be a considerable effort for each unlock, or it wouldn't be as much fun. Don't worry about GW2 economy just yet. It'll be a whole new world for us.
