WHY the hELL does the Site take 5 hours to load?

Ok First off Im usin a generaly high speed conection and Everytime I type in www.guildwarsguru.com it literly takes 5 mins to actually get to the site. Beleave me I go into despair when i click Forums cuase it takes another 5 mins to go there and you dont even want to try to Post or Edit a thread Cuase last time I did that Apparently The site Timed out and could not even load the site for another 2 hours.

So anyone know why it takes forerever to load guru?
Its not just my pc iv had this crappy exp on 4 other my other friends pcs as well.

Id be happy to ask if they is a solition or an aswer why it takes so god dam long to do anything in Guru?>

It's GWguru has big forum with lots of posts and also houses an auction system. That's a big thing and means lots of users.

The server can only do so much at a time, and as this is a free site funded with advertising, I guess it should be understandable that the site wil be slow - servers cost money...

yea this is by far one of the largest of these kinds of forums around... Then add to that the other games that guru has forums for and the auction system, and and ave of 1300 users online every moment of every day... Yep its going to be slow. Its all in the time of day I find. I try to get on at night. very late, and that seems manageable. but like Noon EST? forget about it. lol

You can buy them a better and faster server then. Guru is free to use by anyone, have a look at how many members are online now. It's a lot faster at off peak hour, but when lots of people are online at the same time the server just gave in. If the page won't load just come back later.

Or give Inde money by becoming an Elite member.

Want guru to load faster?
Pay for a Core or Elite guru membership so the admins can get better servers.

Don't want to pay?
Then put up with the slow servers.

Yeah its slow with me also and I have a dsl line. My advice would be to set up your internet to not delete cookies or anything from this site. Its not much of an improvement but its better than nothing.

So you're saying since the site owner is too cheap to put money into what he started himself the users have to suffer? That sure sounds like great administration. *insert eyeroll emote here*

Quite frankly though, there really is no excuse for the piss poor performance this site feels. If they are indeed too cheap for decent servers they shouldn't be even running a website meant for a mass of people to begin with. It's pretty bad the guru has so many performance and uptime issues that it makes things like myspace look flawless.

Change your post to why has my “Guild Wars connection / lag been so poor for the last few weeks” then you might have something to complain about. The site is fine and free and awesome

Well since you obviously have so much money why don't you start your own server and pay for it yourself?
