Gw:en

What will GW:EN offer for the pvp community?
The current info only says things like '40 new armor sets' and '100 new skills'. Nothing about new pvp modes or changes to current ones.
Is Anet forgetting all about pvp? Because if they are it feels like a rip off for the pvp community...you just need the game to play all the new Xway builds that'll arise; nothing new, more imbalance.

Then don't buy it?

I wouldn't anyway
But it just feels weird that Anet abandons pvp altogether.

We are all getting new armor, skills and new weapons. What more do you want ?
onerabbit

I think you need to actually BUY something to get ripped off.
besides, Gaile said they are planning a pvp edition. And why is more skills "nothing new"?

You are complaining that you don't have to buy anything in order to receive your PvP updates? All you have to purchase is the PvP edition to unlock new skills if you want them.

WinterSnowblind
They constantly add and update things for PVP with more expected soon. Eye of the North is clearly intended to add more PVE content, it's to bridge the gap between GW1 and GW2. If you're only interested in PVP you don't have to buy it.. Soo.. what is it you're complaining about?
So far I've read two of your posts and both of them just seem like you're looking for something to complain about. Troll much?

Funny how there is a small, but vocal, portion of the PvP community that complains every time Anet does an update that unbalances PvP, then they complain again when Anet adds an update and tries to minimize the effect on PvP.
What do you want, constant updates or a reliable balance?

PvP is close to impossible to balance. I'm surprised how well the balancing has been done in this game... in THIS GAME.
You've got to understand, this game isn't all about skill. It's about playing your cards right. You have to have the right build and be in the right place.
It's a masterpeice, it's like playing 16 man solitaire with more than 300 cards.
The only reason they cant constantly tweak the hundreds of cards is because it would be rude to mess with skills durring tornaments.
Not to meantion, the PvPers themselves dont make it any easier. This is true for ANY game... Look at Counter-Strike, if you join a random server you'll see like 6 people with huge sniper rifles shooting 2-3x as fast as they should be and crouching under areas that half-out their hitboxes.
PvP is a nasty second market, everyone is out to win big! You all know the BIG payoff is when you find a build or expliot that nobody can beat. There are literly hundreds of thousands of players trying to find that magic imbalance that will reward them with many rank points and other rewards.
Thats ALOT to stand up to.
As for in GWEN, an article said that they are not doing anything for PvP this time around.

My Sweet Revenga
GWEN sounded more like an epilogue to the whole GW1 series. Just to wrap up what happened after the Searing and to bridge the gap to GW2. Granted it's a pretty crappy bridge considering you can't actually take your GW1 characters into GW2 (other than titles?) but it introduces some of the new races to show up in the new game.

What do you want, constant updates or a reliable balance? Reliable balance.
But you fail to see my point.
The new skills will undoubtly spawn new xxxWay builds.
And the new skills will be incorporated in new normal builds.
So whatever kind of player you are, in favor of abbusive or balanced play, you can't expect to get into groups without having the new skills.
But it feels like a rip off to spend so much money when you want just skills.
Anyway, my question has been answered, I didn't know about the anounced pvp expansions that will be released later on. Anyway, if that is the case, than you Anet sounds like a great idea!

Too right. I had a look through the new skills and it seems that Anet haven't given PvPer's any outrageous skills to abuse crazily, and the fact that there are no new elites will diminish the creation of whole new weird builds.
And yeah, this edition is a more PvE oriented edition, but that doesn't mean they have to ignore PvP completely. Now, I know it hasn't ignored PvP completely, but hell the least they could of done was something small that could keep us busy for a while. Like, for example, a whole new set of PvP weapon skins or something.
It seems that PvP'ers will complain when PvE'ers get more, and vice versa. And I don't mean to contradict myself when I say this: Don't bitch till' you have seen whats been given, not just a brief list of whats going to be available to you.
