Dzagonur Bastion HM

I really didn't wanna call for support... but seems I need to... this is the last Mission I need to get IVI so... I understand it's difficulty... But it's sooo annoying... spent 2 days trying... all other missions I've done in 2 days total :|
Tried doing it H/H, with MM supporting one bombard, with 2 MMs supporting 2 bombards... with Curse necro instead of MM... all those options with a 2nd ele m8 of mine (ergo no hench, only heroes).... and I simply can't.... 3 monks + defense paragon + me using ward against meele... and I still got overpowered at times :/ I simply have no further ideas.
What I need is either some guide how to do it or a team to do it with [mebbe there is some uber pro PvE guild who likes to help ppl? ^^].
I'm an ele used to nuking and blinding/debuffing... but can do any build imo. Got R8 LB and R10 SS + all SS skills, no faction skills tho.
Contact: either here or in-game (Sigurd Dubhy - I'm on from noon till early morning GMT+1)
Thx

If you're still trying this, I could use it on my ranger (lb8)...

Just completed mission in three attempts! It takes two thats for sure.
We did the following:
Me and my friend each took same three hero bars
Necro: 13 curse 10 soul 12 prot
Spiteful spirit, faintheatendness, Rigor Mortis, Enfeebling blood, Signet of lost souls, Prot spirit, Spirit bond, Rez sig
Necro: 15 death 12 soul 11 blood
Spoil victor, dark bond, animate bone minions, animate shambling horror, Blood of the master, signet of lost souls, death nova, rez sig
Monk: Orison of healing, ethereal light, dwaynas kiss, healing touch, light of deliverance, holy haste, deny hexs, rez sig
Me and my friend each being a ranger thought it best to bunny thump this mission. Team work is required for start. We sent two groups of whispers to west and one to center. Each of us took a side to defend (middle/west & middle/east). Just bash them around until last mob appears help kill the mob up till the very last two-three guys. At that point you both must bolt to ele boss spawn point (it is key to be their before he spawns!!!!) he'll drop fast enough with spoil/spiteful. From their you both rush para boss and drop him as fast as possible as well. Two down Two to go...one of you needs to run to the monk boss as soon as that para hits the ground. Gank the monk fast while your buddy mops up the remainder of the ele/para boss's buddies. Monk boss is a bit of a pushover. Once your buddy has him dead (you'll see the morale bonus) you both must run to the war boss and kill him fast (you probably just lost your first defense at this point. You will need to kill him before gate is lost)
Takes a few attempts but three attempts vs. three days imo isn't to bad.

I can't remember exact details, but my party did it by sending all the Whispers guys to the west and camping the middle. We used the defenses to help us hold off the mobs until the Generals spawned, right when they did we all RUSHED to the Elementalist boss, ignoring all others and took him out asap.
After that things settled down and we were able to clear the rest of the Generals without much trouble.
Our build was nothing special, infact it was quite random. The timing of when the Generals spawn and when you rush the Elementalist is the most important thing. There is no time to waste if you try that tactic, everyone has to be on the same page and ready to charge him the moment he shows up.
Edit: The post above mine seems to detail it better, as I said I couldn't remember the details, being there before he shows up is a much wiser tactic.

This is a very difficult HM mission. I got it done alone, but it took a bunch of tries. What I did was send all 3 squads to the side of the ele boss (east?). Take out the first couple of groups that spawn before the rifts open, and when working on the last group, position yourself by the warrior general spawn (west?). Finish them off and the rifts open with the warrior general right in your face. Kill him quickly, as if you don't get it done right away additional groups will spawn on top of you and you'll wipe. Kill the warrior general quickly and immediately fall back to the center bombard, ignoring the foes attacking you (charge or fall back helps here). By this time a group will have beaten you to the center, but if your timing is right you'll get back in time to save the bombard. This will be a bit tough since the foes from the warrior rift may follow you the whole way. It can't be helped, since if you clean them up first the center bombard will fall.
Once you get things under control, finish the warrior side while keeping an eye on the center, and then make a run at the paragon or monk boss when you're ready. With 2 generals down, finish the remaining center general, and then alls that's left is the ele. When I did this, my NPCs defending the (east?) bombard wiped just as I was finishing the 3rd general, so the timing was pretty good. Defend the bombard and take out the ele general at your leisure.
There seems to be a bit of inconsistency in just how long the npc squads survive. They definitely pack more punch than their level 20 would indicate, but it seemed that in some attempts they can hold out longer than others. The luck factor was a bit frustrating, since this mission is already quite a challenge.
I can't remember the exact team build I used, but I believe I went with 3 monks. You can't go too defensive since your npc squads will only last so long. Having a curses (and/or sv) necro along is crucial with this strategy, since killing the warrior general has to be quick.

I simply can't do this mission. I've tried several times. Do you have to do every mission to be able to move on to other ones and finish the game?
bifter
No, you don't have to do every mission, but this is one of two alternatives (you would be able to do Dasha Vestibule instead of Dzagonur Bastion if you had chosen Margrid instead of Master of Whispers earlier in the game). You might be able to do Dasha instead if you party up with someone that chose Margrid - not sure if you would then be able to progress in the storyline, best to check wiki.
Otherwise - and assuming you're failing in normal mode - this mission is easily beatable with standard reward by simply defending inside the citadel (ie where you spawn) - go out the transporter at the start to trigger the first mob spawns, then simply fall back to the citadel and take the boss spawns one at a time when they eventually come.

Ah, thank you!
Cryshal
Well, that didn't work. I can only defend one gate that way, so the generals break into the other ones. I can't get inside.

Whisper me in game and i can help you run the mission.

Thanks. I did do some more research on how others did this mission and will try some more ideas. If I get more frustrated, I will give you a whisper.

After at least a dozen tries, I finally finished this mission, thanks to much helpful advice in this thread and others.
Now, I wish I could tell developers this: They have made a harder mode of play for a percentage of players, and it's time they made an easier mode for another percentage, at least for these hard missions. Some players like the harder challenge, but many others just make the effort so they can finish the game. Another percentage will try a few times and then just quit.
How do I know this? I quit before when I couldn't do this mission, as did some of my friends. I decided to try again just because I'm interested in Eye of the North and wanted my heroes. This time I used my Ranger from Prophecies, whereas last time I made a Paragon to level up.

It's a difficult mission, but easily doable if you have the right strategy for your class. I actually struggled to hench masters on this one in normal mode on my ranger (although it was fine on all other classes), so I feel your pain.
It's all a matter of perspective I guess, but a dozen tries doesn't seem so bad to me - I personally like a challenge, and as long as I beat it in the end I'm perfectly fine with failing a few times (just as long as I learn enough to tweak my team build and strategy and come back stronger next time). I'm pretty sure that I spent a dozen tries henching eternal grove in hard mode, and probably twice that on hard mode boreas seabed - both felt like a real achievement when I beat them.
It seems to me that RPGs have turned so much into interactive stories rather than actual games in recent years, that I genuinely fidn it refreshing to have a difficult gameplay challenge from time-to-time.

I got this finished last night. I was sorta dreading it and had been putting it off, but was suprised that it was a lot easier than I had thought.
It has 2 things going for you: it's fast, and you can see the entire arena in your radar. So, if you mess up, just start over, you'll be right back there in minutes.
It was me (warrior), a guildie monk and guildie ss necro. We had a hero monk, 2 hero mm's, the rest are up to you (we went 1 or 2 nukers, 1 sv necro). Parked all the whispers guys on the east battalion with 1 of the hero mm's, the rest of us just worked our way between the middle and west spawn points. The monk boss spawned on us but that just made it fast getting him, then we hit the war boss. At that point we cleared up all the other enemies running around and went for the paragon boss, then went right for the last ele boss on the east, recalling the flagged hero mm.
When you kill the 2nd to last boss, just head right for the last one and ignore everything else. Once the last boss dies, it's over.
It took us 3 tries -- the first one we just got the lay of the land, 2nd one got overrun, 3rd was the charm. With a run skill you could solo this, though it would take some tries and some luck.

Thanks guys for the help, its appreciated.
My gf and I did it in 1 try (Yes thats a 1) and it was very easy. 2 ss necros and 1 mm / sv necro just rocked the generals to easy.
Thanks again!
