2 questions about skills and elite skills
zoobooboozoo
Hi there...
1) I was wondering why do people say not to take a skill like fire storm?
( even though I'm no R/E ) is it because that when a ragnger use fire storm it is much less powerful because he's a ranger ?(regardless of attribute points...) or is it because something else?
2) i'm a 9lvl ranger at post-searing ascalon, when will I be able to find bosses that I can get elite skills from?
thx in advance, c-ya

1) Firestorm sucks. It sucks even on Elementalists. The damage is low, the AoE is tiny and scatter sucks. Indeed, if you're out to cause scatter... there's still better skills. Firestorm is a horrible, horrible skill.
2) In Prophecies, the first elites aren't untill the Crystal Desert. Still a while to go.

1) Yeah, that's exactly why...
2) In the desert, which is about half-way through the game

1) also, that applies to most non-ranger caster skills. The problem is of synergy, ele fire magic (barr Conjure Flame) doesnt fit with rangers, its not affected by the reduced energy cost of expertise and rangers dont have large pool of energy from which to cast the often energy intensive ele skills.
Plus, often a ranger is needed to perform a specific task such as condition application and interuption, its often best to not try to force a ranger to be an elementalist, or the other way around, it just makes the game more difficult.

i admit i used to throw ele skills on my ranger's bar when i was kinda new(dont laugh but i had MS,meteor lava font in there:S) but i found it fun still cuz i still ripped enemies
but still imo:fire storm is one of the worst ele skills EVER

Yeah you can get stuff like defy pain south of beacons. Only problem is those monsters are level 24+, so good luck trying to kill them :P

technically south of beacons in the story is after the desert...
rangers are very good by themselves don't waste skill slots with non ranger skills... except rebirth

about the 1st question... does each class has it's own advantages regardless of the attribute points?
for example rangers with bows and elementalists with casting elemental spells"?

Not really, an ele with a bow with no points in marks will be just as good as a ranger.
seeing as a ranger primary attribute expertise affects most ranger skills, and they can get runes to boost their points in marks they will always end up with an advantage once points are distributed.
