will GWEN have any useful new features?
Lawnmower
Factions had alliance battles, and the nameless pvp isle, and the training grounds. Nightfall had heroes.
since then we have also gotten other significant improvements; bigger storage, lip synching, better LFG features, and so on.
Does anyone know if GWEN will have anything useful new features? Something that could improve the experience if we would want to create new characters or play in the older parts of guild wars?
we know that there is no auction house. what about mounts? guild house upgrades? new kind of pvp ladders? or anything else? some UI updates?

guild upgrades are likely IMO. im thinking that possibly the biggest evolution will be felt in the ingame store [pay real cash for ingame benifits like char restyling and mini new SF type areas.] im extrapolating this from the fact that this bonus mission pack is comming out at pretty much the same time.
UI changes are for sure [E3 vid]. Hero management nearly sure[same reason, possible cheat?]. AI improvement[?]. Graphical enhancements...

Bigger storage didn't need any other campaigns, you got 2 general storage tabs with just Prophecies when they made the change. Battle Isles/Isle of the Nameless/Training Grounds are core areas, nothing past Prophecies are needed. True lip syncing was added with Nightfall first, but it was then turned into a general update with no purchase of Nightfall required. Party Search system didn't require the purchase of any campaigns past Prophecies.
I do recall an interview where it was said even if you do not own Nightfall, heroes in Eye of the North will be usable, so I guess you could say EotN's special feature is Heroes, just like Nightfall.

Those are things Arenanet has always added without cost or the need to buy a new product - even hero management. You got the ability to move all the henchmen/heroes in your party even without Nightfall, the specific hero buttons were just disabled without actual heroes. Entire party moving was still there.

A little something called the Hall of Monuments.
HawkofStorms
Polymock, Dwarven Boxing (two mini games, both will probablly be tied to the gamer titles, think of dragon arena/rollerbettle year round). Probablly some sort of title tied to the Norn, Asura, and Charr (like the Kurzick/Luxon titles). Tons of PvE only skills. 10 new heros.
Anything else is speculative really. Lord Feathers

I believe this will be our new storage among other things. We might just be able to put things in here and take them out but that's pure speculation on my part.

I don't think it will. Otherwise I'd have to keep retrieving my armours and miniatures.

The Hall of Monuments reminds me of that "house" kind of thing in Oblivion.
I forget the name but it's in the mountains, looks the the HoM and you store all your stuff in there nessarose
I don't believe the Hall of Monuments will be a storage facility AT ALL. It will be a thing of beauty and Xunlai Chests will eternally remain our storage facility. If the Hall of Monuments was merely a storage facility there would not be so much hype about it AND there would be some mighty angry players.

Considering people have been asking since almost day 1 for better storage, armor and weapon storage, and other such facilities, if the Hall is such a place, I anticipate much rejoicing. At last a place to store multiple armor sets besides the Xunlai chest.

We're also looking at possible hair stylists and a new meaning to boss battles.

What about in-game voice chat? I heard that they would built in a team speak thing into the game. Is that still planned?
Im also wondering if any of the new shader effects and the new battle music will be in GW EOTN? it would just be cool if they tried to improve the experience for people who wanted to start all over after EOTN came out. arcanemacabre

The voice chat thing I think is an NCsoft feature they are adding to all their games. It's independent of GW:EN, and will likely apply to all the games at the same time, and after GW:EN is released. That's what I remember hearing as far as that goes. 2. I believe you are right. After seeing that latest in-game demo, I think that's what the voice-over said (Ben Miller?). The battle music will definitely be with GW:EN, the shaders will probably be applied to all games. Hopefully the battle music thing will also be applied to all games, would be neat. Lawnmower
which reminds me(also while looking at my avatar) - in that video, Ben talks about finding maps and stuff in dungeons. it seemed almost zelda-like dungeon exploration. im wondering if any of does things will be added to the other games.

All I can say is amazing... This looks to be the best GW addon yet...
New Stuff: 18 Megaton Dungeons (similar to Legend of Zelda mixed with WoW Instances) 10 New Heroes (one of each class) 40 New Armors Lots of new Special Armor items (Example - Magma Gloves) Arena Battles (1 on 1 arena battles ... YAY! Hope they really expand this) Polymock (Pokemon on steroids! Hope they expand this too... looks amazing) New FX Engine - They expanded the GFX engine... (a forest on fire... it truely looks amazing how they accomplished this!) Hall of Monuments - Looks wicked... Not sure if this will be a storage or just a "records keeping system" of your accomplishments to carry to GW2! Race Introductions - Norn, Asura, Sylvan (Anyone seen one yet?), Charr Faction Alliances / Rep - Build up the rep by doing minigames or quests... I like it... leans more like WoW Rep and I like it... I like it alot. Expanded Voice Acting to Heroes or NPCs? Can't confirm this just yet... wouldn't it be amazing to hear ALL of the heroes say their lines in game while adventuring instead of reading the text "Charge!" or such... --- Things we really could use with GWEN / GWEN Future Patches: 1. Merging of the Ranger / Beastiary Skills - Charm Pet and Heal Pet skills (Rangers suffer seriously from the lack of 1 wasted skill slot when using pets - Please just merge COMFORT ANIMAL + CHARM ANIMAL into 1 skill, it would be simple to code... and a nice blessing for Beast Masters out there feeling sad from day 1) 2. Pet Tamer storage - Ability to have 3 pets per character, ability to store 2 inactive pets at a pet tamer or town. Only having 1 pet is a real sad thing and you miss out on some of the great pets out there. 3. Wardrobe storage - Wardrobe storage for armor only. Store your sets, 5 slots per 'outfit' and up to 5 outfits storable. When you own multiple armor sets per character, a single storage across the account still isn't enough. When you browse your wardrobe you can see your character in a large screen with the outfit on... great for cameo pics too. 4. Ability to buy more storage - Everyone wants more and more storage... How about selling 'double the storage' sized chest on the NCSoft store for $9.99 You will be seriously surprised how much money you will rake in from this just alone (and make alot of gamers happy) 5. Bot Reduction - Seriously, the amount of bots is a parody now. You guys have GOT to do something, the lag of the servers is getting bad now due to bots... Towns are filled with bots... some towns have MORE bots than humans now. Sad. This seriously harms the economy and drop rates for eveyone... plus the lag is getting worse, daily. Anet needs to do something and fast... moral of the honest players is getting at an all time low because of cheaters/botters. 6. Mini storage - Yeah need a pet keep for the minis. Some of us that collect them... are out of storage .... another reason for more storage. A pet storage just for minis would help tremendously. 7. Ability to change hairstyles ... SHE SAID It's time for a new doo! 8. Pet Buffs - Similar to Hero Points... Pets can obtain only 2 points, one at level 10 and one at level 20. Add in about 20+ different buffs for the pets... simple examples: Agility Enhancement +5% to Attack Blocking, Speed Boost +5% to Move/Attack Speed, Deadly Attacker +5% Damage, Knockout 1% Chance to Stun Opponent for 5-10 Seconds on Attack, Kickback 1% Chance to Knockdown Opponent for 1-3 Seconds on Attack, Death Roar 1% Chance that pet will roar and cause 1-3 enemies to flee for 3-5 seconds, Winged Fury 1% chance that Pet can spin in a circle and daze all adjacent enemies for 3-5 seconds, Eye of the Tiger 1% Chance that your pet will cause Weakness, Cripple, and Deep Wound for 10 seconds to one opponent.... just simple buffs like that... where you can actually grow depth with your pet but not go overboard.... you can make your pet unique from others... These are not skills... they are abilities... They just buff the pet a tad and make it unique... not over powerful either... just a thought... (similar to WoW pets but alittle different)... 1% chance attacks are very very very very rare... They sound too powerful but honestly... roll a 100 side dice over and over until you get the #7 .... see how rare it will occur? Just some thoughts... YAY! Gwen is going to rock! Roguey000
I hope GW:EN is good - normally Anet knows what they are doing

Like you say, maybe equitable skill bar or something (like heroes) would be nice.
