New 15K Armours?
doinchi
If I read correctly, there will be 40 new armours that can be crafted in GW:EN. Thats 4 armours for every class there is. Seeing as they are introducing only 4 new armours for each class, I am inclined to think that there will be an armour set with a Norn, Asuran, Charr and Slyvari armour. Thats 1 new armour style for each new race. I'm pretty sure about the Norn and Asuran armour, but I'm not too sure about Charr and Sylvari. Maybe even Dwarven armour...
But thats beside the point. What I am wondering is whether there will be any 15K armours available. With only 4 armours available I'm wondering how it will be distributed. 1 for each new race? 1 1.5K, 1 5K, 1 10K, 1 15K? If it is 1 armour for every race, will there be a 1.5K and a 15K version?
This is, so far, the last game of the GW series, so I am pretty sure there will be 15K armours to keep us working for. I certainly hope there is 1 armour for each race and also an ascended version of it.

Sylvari won't be in EotN. The Charr are still your enemies - you ally with the group of Ascalon Soldiers behind the lines called the Ebon Vanguard. There's likely going to be a set tied to Asurans, Ebon Vanguard, Dwarves and Norn. No one knows how much the sets will cost, but I find it very unlikely any will be 1k 'standard' sets. This is content designed for characters that already are level 20 - they should have their 'standard' set already from whatever campaign/campaigns they have played through.
doinchi
I did remember reading that we would "witness the birth of a new race" somewhere, but it does seem rather unlikely now that I tihnk of it. Not all of the Charr are still enemies, we do get one Charr Hero. There are also some Charr Heretics that have left the Charr nation, or what remains of it. They could very well be allies. Anyway, so the likely 4 armours would be Dwarven, Norn, Asuran and Ebon Vanguard. So do you think there will be a 1.5K version and a 15K version for each?
nessarose
There are no standard armours for assassins and ritualists in Nightfall - only prestige armour. It makes little sense for there to BE standard armour for assassins and ritualists in Nightfall as (most) assassins and ritualists playing through Nightfall already have standard max armour.
The same logic would extend to all characters playing GW:EN already having in the very least a set of standard max armour, so there would be little point in having a 1.5K version of GW:EN armours.
My guess is that there are four sets of prestige armour per profession.

i agree with nessarose because eotn is considered "high-level gameplay". assuming this is high-level, they expect u to already have max armor, and once u have max armor, the only way to go is more expensive

If there is 15k armor i just hope that its worth it
But i bet at least 1 set will be overly priced like vabbi is. like 5k to craft but requires diamonds-.-

I just hope we get some deceit new sets. Some of the pre-views I've seen if that is the 15 K for some of the classes I'm a bit disappointed. My guess would be the armor we will get here will be 15 K as everyone has said this expansion is content for level 20 characters and not beginning characters.
WinterSnowblind
Judging by the leaked scans, all of the armour is 15k. Which, like most people have already said, makes the most sense. Eye of the North is intended for experienced players. I certainly wouldn't be very happy if there were only two new sets of armour, with 15k variations.
Also, none of the armour seems to be based on any race or faction. Every profession does seem to have a new furry style of armour, which will likely come from the Norn homeland, but there's nothing that seems to match the Asurian or Dwarf style. Then again, most of them are bad reskins and could really be anything...

Ya but those leaked armors might not the offical ones, they probley have a few other unseen sets around just sitting there on there deta base and they could change there mines. But i beleive that there will be Norn armor as well as asura and of course Ebon Vanguard armor as well.
P.S. Sylvari will be in EOTN as we will "witness the birth of a new race" near the end of it when we fight the great destroyers. As quoted on the offical wiki "will be first introduced in Eye of the North, with the "birth" of the first Sylvari witnessed during the Eye of the North storyline. They are a young race of nature spirits. They are agile and magically adept, with a connection to plants."

Which is why I think America should declare eBay season in august!
So that we may freely hunt down and kill anyone who buys ingame gold before EN comes out.
That oughta help our prices
Well... I guess I won't be able to convice the government to do that... So lets hope we get to the armors before the gold buyers do!
I hope they have another Ancient-like set. One that costs a big load of regular priced materials instead of something exploited like Ectos.

They better be all 15k... since the expansion is for lvl 20 characters...

Actualy there will be one set of armor for each faction you encounter in GW:EN. In this way you will find Asuran, Norn (Identified by the Fur on the armor), Ebon Vanguard (Ascalon design), and either Dwarf or End game armor (no one is quite publicly sure on the last set). Considering the costs of elite armor in Nightfall some of the armor may be 15k some of it might be 10k or even 5k.
At one point there were screen shots of these armors someone did through a hax. Not all of the armors were shown but most (80%) were. I can tell you there were several re occurring theme's on many of the sets such as one fur lined armor for each class.

Then again, most of them are bad reskins and could really be anything... Actually I've picked up on a few things.
Asura Armor: Always the most outlandish when compared to the rest, usually has gear like designs and patterns that could represent their colorful and scientific nature.
Dwarven Armor: Usually has a runic design or patterns on the armor, with lots of smooth well balanced lines and they're usually symmetrical. Their armor almost has a "perfectly crafted" appearance due to these values, sometimes they'll show stout bearded face on a belt buckle or breast plate, also in fashion of the dwarves.
Norn Armor: Easy to pick out because of its furry nature. Often sporting iron plates and other heavier armor types for professions who never have touched anything more then leather before, showing all the Norn despite the profession, are warrior like. Another key nature of Norn armor is, it's just about the most covering armor in the game, representing the need for protection against the cold weather of the Shiverpeaks.
Ebon Vanguard: The most casual armor of all, from what I've seen based off a Mesmer and another profession it's some what true to what we've seen in Ascalon before. More practical then flashy, but then again I've only seen a couple of armor sets that I could even consider to be Ebon Vangaurd (If thats even the proper title)
These are based off my observations of the leaked photos, and of course may not be accurate at all, but its just my opinion.

about the Ebon Vanguard
Quote:
The Ebon Vanguard are one of the groups you will meet in Guild Wars Eye of the North. Like the Norn, Dwarves, and the Asura, you can perform quests and mini-games to improve your reputation with them. They are Ascalonian soldiers who are trapped behind enemy lines. They count Gwen among their ranks.

I'm hoping there will be stand alone helms, masks, hoods etc that you can mix and match with existing armors.

Well, i can tell u one thing, im going to wait and see before buying any new armor. If my current 15k armor looks better then the new armors form GW:EN then im not going to bother to buy them even if they are new fashion trend.
Imo, I think that a number of armor pieces can’t be crafted (like those gloves), but will be drops form bosses. With the introduction of the “dungeon” system (raids) where u have to go trough a lot of obstacles to face a big boss at the end that will have rare drops, including armor. They cant stick with rare weapon drops only, because face it the only thing that makes a weapon rare is the skin, the stats of a weapon are not important like they are in other MMORPG (wow). So they have to expand the boss drops to armor as well.
I think u can craft 3 armor sets and the 4th one will be collectable throughout the dungeons.
I do hope they introduce a “roll system” together with the “bind on acquire” system for rare items (like wow), so u have to go in to the dungeon and get it your self instead of buying gold of ebay or farm gold to buy the item from someone else. Then u actually have to go to the dungeons and be “skilled” enough to get the item. If u are forced to go there with a group of people several times it will be a big incentive to do these dungeons as a guild and to join guilds to do pve activities (raid) and this is a realy good thing I think. Because guilds are more of a pvp thing right now instead of pve/pvp.

For some people (myself included) it's a case of, "I have all this money to spend before GW2 comes out". Obviously funds cannot be carried over to GW2 so people will find ways spend a money in a way that will benefit you in the next game. New armor is an option, one that many will take advantage of, and who knows, there may even be specific armor types that are needed to unlock something in GW2. As Mazik quoted, there are rare and stand alone armor, so I'm thinking the armor unlocks could be a possibility.

Not unless that set is made up of 4 glove pieces. Because the 'rare' armour are 4 different sets of gloves.

It does make sense that by now all players getting GW:EN would have maxed armour. What I don't agree with is how all of them would want to get 15K armour because they see it as the "next step forward." I am saving up to buy a new weapon now, and I wouldn't want to have to spend 75K just to get a new set of armour from the latest GW installment. High level players mean experienced players, not rich players, so I'm sure there would be a few who would be happy with 1.5k armour.
Having said all that, I would rather have all 4 15K armours available than 4 1.5K armours available. Uber Mass
The thing i really hope for is that they make HIGH prestige armor... on the lvl of FoW... there are still rare crafting materials wich arent used.. (diamonds)

Because all of the EotN armours have been leaked and screenshots are sitting in a photobucket account (no, not mine).

Well, one of us will get a surprise when EotN is released. Personally, I hope it's me, because most of the armour sucked, but I know I won't be the one.

The files were hacked from the GW.data file. We have screenshots of most of the armour pieces. What else could they possibly be? There are a lot of people hoping that these are simply extra new skins we can unlock, or the data file is somehow wrong, but that's nothing but wishful thinking.

I'm just hoping that armor leak wasn't all true. I can see the ones with fur being true, but if all the new armor is just new reskins that would be kind of a let down. I was hoping for some male mesmer armor that wouldn't make you look like a male prostitute, and as far as paragons...well I was hoping for some more "manly" armor. "No offense to you male paragons out there, some of the armor looks ok, but come on". I like the paragons as a profession, but that armor is just..uugghhh.
Anyway yeah, here's to hoping. *Cheers*
