Armor sets And Hall Of Monuments
Shanaeri Rynale
Just a thought, for those lucky souls to have 15k/FoW/Obsidian for their mesmers, or like mix and match armor.
Since many people did'nt buy Fissure gloves/masks/headpeices to save money and them being visually identical to cheaper ones it's likely the game won't count your expensive/obisidan set as complete and therefore it wont appear in your hall of monuments.
Not world breaking, but just a thought..

Wait where'd it say that FoW armor is being saved?

Yea, I have been wondering about that whole set vs partial set issue as well.
I have quite a few chars that have a mix and match of various 15K/8K/5K armor sets. It will be interesting to see how bad things will be if they decide to force us to have complete sets in order to have any benefits...

15k/FoW armor is suppose to open up new armor sets in GW2 isn't it?
Saraphim
I've been wondering about this too. My ele has only one complete set of 15K (Luxon), but has pieces from Vabbi (everything bar the chest), Ancient, Primeval, Elite Canthan, Elite Sunspear. I've never bought her a full set of any of those as I don't like all the pieces.
Guess I'll just have to grind loads more cash if I want unlocks for those, if it is the case that you need a full set. ....

I say its not worth getting all fussed about. What ya gonna lose out on? A holiday hat type thing?

If anything, then you can buy it after Hall of Monuments details are solidified. I don't think it is worth worrying about when GW:EN isn't even out yet. I myself have all mixed sets except for pyro 15k...

But with only 2 years or more to get the completed armor sets before GW2, how will we ever have enough time?
clarianaeneas
Most Obsidian armor sets don't have head pieces, and no Ranger Tyrian 15k (except for the furry one I think) sets do, so wouldn't the whole set be just 4 pieces?
Konrow
wait so the hall only takes full sets? thats not fair. i only like a few of my chars with their mixed sets. there better be a way to bring mixed sets across.
LumpOfCole
It's such a long time for GW2 to come out that I wouldn't worry about details just yet.

Seroiusly, it's just speculation at this point. We won't know for sure until GW:EN comes out.
Winterclaw
I like some of the 1.5K sets better than the more expensive ones.
And I'm now probably going to have to go back and buy that kurzick headpiece for my mesmer if that's the case.

Ah I love this forum. Since when did "wondering" = "worrying" ?
Of course there's loads of time, and it's trivial. Hardly worth jumping on people for discussing it though.

Guild wiki says the monuments give access to exclusive titles, companions , weapons, attire, and miniatures. These inherited items are unique: there is no other way within Guild Wars 2 to acquire them. The word attire is highlighted and is linked to armor. They could be doing what newer online RPGs are doing now and putting the defensive stat on the character instead of the armor.

Oh yeahs, where did you get that mix-match info? It's been like a dry spell for info, unless your an insider. More info on Eye of the North Anet.

think about this.......what if unlocking armor did NOTHING.......HUH!!! what that couldnt be they said it unlocks something........o thats right it unlocks that fact that you can show it off in hall.....
come on peeps think outside of physical rewards. Maybe the rewards might just be braggring rights to show off that you have bought a certain set of armor or have unlocked a certain weapon.
The titles are where I believe the real rewards will come from.
But like was previously stated, it is all just speculation. Just throwin the thought out there that not every "reward" is physical.

No matter how it turns out, I like the idea and whether or not there will be tangible benefits in GW2 doesnt really matter a lot for me.
I just hope its retro-active and not just your current armor

The way it really works is this:
They add up all the money you've spent on armor and dyes. Then, depending on the amount, you get a statue in your hall of monuments with a specific pose - anything from just shaking its head in wonder to rolling on the floor laughing.
(just/kidding, in case anyone is reaching for the flamethrower)
