Imo, it´s useful to have more storage boxes. Why not pay about 15k in-game gold per box ?

I like your idea of handling it, similar to Skill costs. However there needs to be a cap where eventually it will cost the same no matter how many you own, probably a cap at 25k imo.

And why would anyone care if we're packrats? It doesn't affect anyone else if we want to keep *insert amount of random item here*. There's no harm in adding this option and it would be extremely simple to do. The problem would be finding a balance on cost, but definitely doable.
