Ever since I saw the beautiful concept art of Jora and...that awesome bear-thing...standing behind her, I've wanted it for my desktop. It wasn't exactly the right size for a desktop, however, so I decided to wait for ANet to release an official wallpaper based on it.
Turns out I didn't really like what they came up with. They moved her over so she's blocking one set of claws, she's wearing more armor, it's not as dynamic as the concept art, she was, um...wearing more armor...
Anyway, here's what I slapped together in about 5 minutes in GIMP. I'm lazy, so it's good enough for me. I used the following pieces: Jora/bear-thing concept art, GW:EN logo and Jora layered PSDs from the fansite kit, and a celtic cross wallpaper ripped from DrJest @ deviantart (sorry DrJest...). Credit where credit is due and all.
I suppose Jora's concept art armor may be a bit NSFW...but you've already loaded the thumbnail, so it's a little late for that, isn't it?
I hope you like gold and brown. A lot.

uhm.. That's not exactly what's considered a hack... It's more of a composition thing.. Although, you blended fairly well..

Making that wallpaper would have been easy. All you would need is blending ability, Grunge brushes, and Use of the Burn tool. Maybe some abstract brushes too.
Anyways I took the liberty of adding some dynamic effect as well as sharpening the image as to bring out detail. Wow, that's makes it look a lot better! I'll have to go back to GIMP and see what I can come up with...I've got some ideas on what you did, but I may need some hints if I can't quite figure it out. Mind if I PM you with any questions? Think I may take this as an opportunity to browse some more online tutorials as well...
Looks like my 5-minute comp is going to turn into something much more...ah, the curse of being a perfectionist. This is starting to feel like a CA thread...  I appreciate the comments and additions!

OK, after dorking around for a few hours tonight (reading, studying, testing, etc...) here's what I came up with:

much better, lighting is much more dynamic and it has a light source.
You need to pay attention to shade also, Towards the bottom should be all shaded.. So Jora's belly should look fairly dark if you want it to blend with the background. the hair looks good, I like the colors you used. Try messing with opacity as well  Her shoulder should be shaded a bit more as well. Also you might wanna add some lighting to her right eye as it looks unatural dark with the opening in her lips (IMO)..
