Hi there
I hope this is the right section to post this issue in, if not apologies.
Basically, as most of you know there have been terrible lag issues over the last month or so, particularly on the Europe servers.
Things improved for a few days, but now even though average ping is holding around 200, my FPS (frames per second) goes down as low as 9, where usually it stays around 35 average.
I was wondering if anyone else is having similiar problems?
I hope it doesn't just get forgotten about, as EotN is coming out very soon and I just hope these issues get resolved.
Many thanks for listening.

I don't see what net connection has to do with your fps.. I'm on a 3 year old rig and I get 40-60 fps when just idling. I get more during lagspikes since everything stops then. I'm usually on around 150-200 ping as well.

FPS is all you dude. Ping could be the fault of the server, but my FPS is always at the very least 30 and I have a 3 year old system.

Hi there
Can you advise me what to do then pls, my fps was ok a week ago and now suddenly it keeps fluctuating between 9 and 35. I thought this was to do with net connectivity but it seems I was mistaken.
Please advise.
Many thanks

Yep, your connection has nothing to do with your fps whatsoever. Want high fps? Put more hamsters inside your rig. Havn't had any lag that bad (ping 68-256), but a few disconnected here and there.
I sugest you run a system scan for virus, spam, adware etc first. Last update put a few graphic tweak in as well. So try update your card driver, that might help.

If FPS is a problem, do note that Antialiasing and texture filtering are very resource consuming. Disable both, and you'll start with a great boost. Apart from that, it's more or less a question of what you are willing to sacrifice first...

It really could be almost anything. The most likely thing is a virus or spyware, run a full scan and see how that goes.
It's possible your video card drivers are screwed, download new drivers and install them from whoever your card is from.
You could have bad memory, download memtest and run that. If this is the case, most likely you'll notice a lot of programs randomly crashing.
Your video card could be screwed, if cheesy simple programs and old games run fine, this is likely. Unfortunately, the only really good way to test this is to put a spare video card in and see if things get better.

Hi there
Just wanted to say thanks all for the advice
I installed updated drivers for vid card, which has fixed the fps. I'm now at around 33
And apologies for blaming ANet, at least I'm now a bit more clued up about fps
