I live in Australia. Thus, Australian Dollars. The problem I'm having is that I'm wanting to purchase stuff on the GW Online Store, mainly to get the bonus mission pack. However, it puts the money in Pounds Sterling. The problem with that is I assume that they use the current exchange rates to evaluate how much it is in Australian Dollars.
Now, there are three prices in the store: Pounds, US Dollars, and Euros. By using the exchange rate, it turns out that, in Australian Dollars, the US one is less, the Euros slightly more, and the Pounds even more, than the AUD equivalent. But, since it's putting the cost in Pounds in the online store, I assume it's going to charge me the highest possible price.
So, the question is: is there any way of making it charge me in US Dollars? I tried changing my PlayNC account to US, and it didn't help. Would temporarily changing my Guild Wars territory, from Europe to America, help?

I think it choses the currency based on the country you chose when you registered and from what I've read in other threads there isn't a way to change it.
So I think even if you moved to the US you may find that you're still paying in AUD.
Also I would think that the exchange rates that will be used will be the ones from your Bank.
I guess that someone just decided that people in Australia will have to pay the GBP price.

Thanks bsoltan! I guess I'll just have to shell out the extra money :-(

A lot of us Aussies aren't happy about being charged in GBP. We've had discussions about it in different areas.
I don't think there's ever a chance we'll get charged in USD, but there's a slight charge they might at least change us to Euro. We all believe it's simply unfair to charge GBP to a country in which that currency rate is tripled when there are other options available.
Submit a support ticket regarding the issue to NCSoft. I've had two replies saying it has been forwarded on to the senior administrators to be evaluated. Perhaps if we get enough people contacting support with the same grievances they will do something about it.

1 Guild Wars Factions £19.99 = $46.81 AU
1 Eye of the North: Pre-Order £3.49 = $8.14 AU

I had the same issue, I've been documenting my conversations with Anet here:

Has anyone actually proceeded past the 'your query has been escalated' part? I've been waiting a few days now for a response from GW support.

Incidentally, the above poster is correct - I tried changing my billing address to a US one, and the checkout still charged in GBP

I hope this gets changed, it has to suck to get charged more than needed.
