I don't think anyone really knows how a Hall of Monuments is going to work yet.
It could be a way to move your prestige items into GW2, but is more likely I think just a way of showing off that you used to have them.
It could also be some midway combination too, for example, you may be able to "inherit" your old mini-pets, but only go and look at your old armour.
We don't have that long to wait to find out the real answers though :-)

Hers a vid I saw where they talk about GW:EN, at 7:30 he says that we can use all the stuff in the Hall of Monument in GW2 and that, that would be the only way to get it, so I guess we will also be able to use the armors.

Well, im pretty sure that when GW2 comes out no one is gonna play the first part, so I would still like to show off with all my obsidian armors in GW2, I mean, all the time and nerves I spent on GW.... dont want them to be for nothing.
