Tombs of Drascir

I was just poking around on the wiki and reading some of the gw lore and I stumbled across the list of the 3 only known entrances to the hall of heroes. Heroes Ascent(pvp), Tomb of the Privmeval Kings(bonus mission), and the last being the Tombs of Drascir, which is located in Drascir, the former capital of Ascalon, deep in Charr territory.

So..in conclusion, since it has been said that we will be able to explore the Charr homeland, do you think it is likely that this last portal will be put to use as another kind of elite mission or something of that nature?

Well, it is one possible place where Ebon Vanguard might defend portal. Ebon Vanguard must have some major reasons to do what they are doing.

Drascir itself is north of the wall, but not actually in the Charr homeland, you visit the academy at Drascir at the end of ruins of surmia mission, however the tombs could be further north

That position looks more like Dragon's Gullet. I kinda wonder what these areas looked like before the searing.

It reminds from LOTRO's map, poorly informative because try to look like map with only places names and markers.

Wow, how much the game has changed...

So, any other lore from 2004 that proves interesting / humorous in hindsight?

I don’t know, they might bring it up again. They did say something about the catacombs reopening. So this place could reopen as a dungeon. Who knows *shrugs.*

Do Ruins of Surmia. The door that Rurik opens is part of the Academy of the Arcane Arts of Drascir.

Well i know the topics been dead for a while but id bet the third entrance, the Tomb of Drascir, is in the flame temple corridor. Its a little bit out of the way but the whole place ispretty much one big mausoleum. Take a close look at the sentral memorial, its huuuggggeeee with lots of flashy effects and lightning lol

Moving to lore section - not really got anything to do with the "gameplay" of the EotN.

I always wondered why MMOs don't try the micropayment method. Add a new area. Take it or leave it, but it's $5 if you want access. Or whatever.

I would also LOVE to see Wizard's Tower as a dungeon, too.

Think about it, ANet! Whip up a few more dungeons, then charge us a few bucks if we want access.

Anet did it with the BMP. They could give us more.

Anarchy Online's doing really well too with their latest couple of additions to the game, now they've got stuff available for micropayments that's balanced to be a bit less effective than ingame grindable stuff, but looks cool and adds a bit of fun.

Maybe the Tombs of Drascir lie underneath the Flame Temple in The Flame Temple Corridor. Perhaps because of the energy that must hae been present due to the portal to the Mists, it drew the Charr their, and they constructed the Flame Temple there.

The place at the end of the Ruins of Surmia may be the Academy at Drascir, but Drascir may be the name of not just a city but an area, like Ascalon city is in the region of Ascalon. Just a thought.

Apparently, the map that was available during the actual event was a bit better than what you've posted. An interactive version of it is available here.

If you click on the red "arena" icon in the top left corner, you can see the "travel blurb" for "The Tombs of Drascir." The image featured in that window shows what appears identical to the entrance of the Tomb of the Primeval Kings. It would seem logical that what we today know as "The Tournament" (Heroes' Ascent/Hall of Heroes) was simply moved from Ascalon into the Desert, in order to prevent people from rushing there.

If you click on the "outpost" icon to the right of "The Tombs of Drascir," you'll find "Drascir Mortuary." The landscape depicted in that outpost's image looks like post-Searing Ascalon, and I personally think it resembles something from the Ruins of Surmia mission.

I could be wrong, of course, as I did not play in the E3 event.

Wow...that map is so different. The picture they have for Tombs of Drascir is clearly Tombs of the Primival Kings.
