fixt imo. Complaining that a second event is lame because *you* already played it is somewhat self-centered. Especially considering the event is almost completely transparent if you don't go to shing jea.

This is proof-positive that no matter what Anet does, the whiners come out in force. They're giving a perfectly legitimate reason for the redux which the vast majority of players understand and appreciate, but still the whiners complain. Nothing is ever good enough. I think it's a damn nice thing to do.

Resetting territory change is quite nice

and YaY! free alcohol and sweety things!

I missed the last one due to PC breakig (got fixed day after event ended ) but thankfully a friend got me a stack of 250 so I could still get a mask. But now I get the fun again! YaY!

It's amazing how people criticize something when it's apparent they never read the reason for the repeat. I saw the post on GWOnline first and most all of the posts were thanking ANET for doing so. Then I come here and all we see on the first group of replies is bitching. ANET tries to right a problem and you still get bitching here. Now I know why I am spending more time at GWOnline and less here, apparently they read before they post.

It just seems wrong....
That statement is just soooo wrong on all levels.

Although I was able to enjoy it the first time around -- I'd like to say Thank you to Anet for bringing it around again for those who couldn't.

i like it; free stuff again, helps with the sweet & drunk titles. :P

also more beetles yay, couldn't play the last at all at all thanks to lag, so yay!

HOWEVER.

i would definately remove AFK games in this one. at the last, everyone was basically forced to AFK because it lagged so much, and i really don't want another lagfest next weekend. and yes, that many people AFKing on the servers DO cause lag, so don't blame server issues.

so yay weekend, nay rings please. there's 0 reason to get them again.

I would like to thank A.net for repeating this festival. I was able to attend, but a friend was away the entire weekend and only got a mask because I saved 250 tokens for him. Now he will be able to play the games, do the quests, etc.

I know the lag was really bad last time for some people (I got lucky and only had bad lag for a couple of hours).

Personally, I plan to redo all the quests, try another mission or two to see if they are as hard as they seemed last time, and generally enjoy myself.

Woodsy.

The first instance of this event was completely lag-tastic, so I'm excited to be able to do it with no issues like that. True, I'd like a chance at some of the other masks but beggars can't be choosers, for goodness' sake! You people are pathetic, if anet rolled back loot scaling you'd still find a reason to whine about it.

Never mind the festival. Has anyone even noticed that they reset the territory change counter? Has that ever even happened before?

(yeah, I know this has been mentioned in the thread, but it's important enough to bring up again.)

Thank you Arena net, I have to say this shows a level of consideration I would not have expected.

I personally attended the event and had a great time. Though I had a friend who had me use his account becuase he was out of town, so I got the hat for him. But he missed the festival its self, so this will give him a chance to replay it. Also I'll get more presents this time becuase I figured out my winning strategy on the last Emperor sessions..

BTW, PLEASE ASSIGN PRESENTS IF YOU CAN!!

I think this is a great idea. Lag wasn't too much of an issue for me during July's Dragon Festival, but I understand it kept a good number of people from fully enjoying the event. What's the harm in giving them (and anyone else who wants to partake) a second chance?

Good call on the redux, ANet. My only gripe is that now I have to figure out how to divide my time up between beetle racing, dragon arena and dragon nest next weekend!

Cool, more lucky/unlucky points. They could've just done it on the Euro servers, but we got included. =o

Mmm...I'm away this weekend so no more Creme Brulees for me and I had the lag last time, luckily I got a mask. This weekend was unexpected to say the least and whilst other updates may need to happen I think this will make more of the community happy than say a skill balance.

Yea, I reaaaaallllly hoping for the grasp mask from the actors. This will make the original Demon Mask more 'Exclusive' for loyal GW players.

We won't be working on this event code -- so much to do! -- so I'm afraid gift assignment isn't likely. I can ask, but I think that just won't be possible in this repeat.

Gaile... after seeing that walk-through for Eye of the North on IGN, I'm absolutely thrilled that that's where the developers are focusing. Absolutely gorgeous, and I'm not saying that to kiss arse (but I will take brownie points...)

I'm not surprised at the negative posts here, I've gotten used to the whining about weekend events.

Thanks for re-doing the festival! I suffered lag issues last go-around and didn't enjoy it at all. Hope this time it's different. I'm in need of a ton more firewaters and a ton more Lucky points!

Miral - Most of the people who missed out on the first dragon festival this year missed it because of a problem with the game. There were no technical difficulties with the Halloween event, so no-one missed it on A-Net's account. Therefore, there is no call for A-net to redo it because some players' RL stuff got in the way.

Not to complain or anything, but this is a great idea Gaile for those who did miss out. However just to be fair I have to ask. If future events have problems like that of the Dragon Festival, will you have a redux for these events as well (give it be American, European, or other servers)? Or will this be the only special occasion?

Well....if theyre gonna rerun this event PLEASE OH PLEASE make it so we get the different demon masks.Like the Grasp masks.

That is the only thing i ask,and if they do that...then way to go!
If they dont do that its weird that we dont get any other chances to get other festival masks.

I knew we would get a boardwalk event before GW:EN just like we did with nf.I am glad that we get the whole enchilada this time

But again i hope they add those extra masks(if they do id like to know before hand).Glad theyre focusing on GWEN though.

Score! For some reason, my computer picked that exact weekend to break down (ghosts haunting my processor, y'know). I was able to get a Mask, but that was it. I could hardly enjoy a good run in the Dragon Arena before I suffered a critical crash (think smoke and fires). Now I can work on my Skillz and replenish my hoard of Firewater!

Thanks, Uncle Anet!

so will we get a 3rd Dragon Event due to lagtasticness?

this is an admission that we will get grasp stacking which will render many districts hopeless in terms of winning the finale, and the rat race that is collecting gifts

The events are for those who turned up (obvious I know). If you don't turn up, you don't get the goodies. That may suck but that's just life.

This re-run is for people who DID turn up, but still weren't able to take part because of the lagging issues. There is a difference between the two cases.

I do however agree on assigning presents, unfortunately it looks like that's not gonna happen, at least this time.

Unless the respawning of this event gives us the dragon mask instead of that hideous piece of crap called the demon mask, this event is useless.

Thank You, ANet.

It was pretty disheartening staring at a present at my feet and being able to touch it.
Plus, I just discovered 47 victory tokens I didn't know I had. Glad I didn't delete them.

Question; will those chars that did all the quests that gave out victory tokens be able to do them again?

Thank you ANet! It'll be fun to have a go at this with a ping of 100-200 instead of 15,000-40,000.

I'm sure the hundreds of players who were locked out of the previous event would agree.

All I've seen through this thread is "People didn't get to attend the last event due to high pings." All I have to say is this. ATTEND WHAT!? Attend the 9 Rings afking sessions? This is ridiculous. It's a fact that all people do on these events is afk. Why repeat it, and lag the whole server for EVERYONE ELSE.

"Hundreds" of other people missed the other events such as say... halloween as well yet those don't get re-run. what makes the dragon fest so special to deserve re-ran when the others arent? Especially when the hat, the end reward, is worse than a majority of the Nightfall armors, which is quite a feat.

Weird, do all the rollerbeetle racers and dragon arenaers run bots? I swear I saw a couple of guys during the gift droppings tho.

This is getting exceedingly dumb. Community asks for extension of the event, anet runs the event again as per requested, community flies off the wall with complaints about "well I didn't want to play it again", "nobody likes this event anyway", "the reward sucks", and the above "well this still doesn't fix that other issue with that other event".

I'm going to stop trying to argue that anet did the right thing with filling a request made by a large portion of the community, and leave you guys to your complaining.

and who caused the lag? the present getters and roller beetlers? no.......the 9 ring afkers

which makes me wonder how this time will be different, since Gaile has stated they won't fix the various broken aspects of the last dragon event

The number of afkers far outweighs the rest, which is why the event is ridiculous.

well the server is crap right now and there is no festival, so those of you hoping for a lag free version of the afkfest that was the last dragon festival might be disappointed
