What armor will count in the HoM?
actionbatman
ive just been wandering this as like many others who play guild wars i prefer the non 15k armors because they tend to look better then some of the 15k ones. But in the new video it was said only ascended armor will be counted.
Does this mean that people who actually liked all the other armors they made are just going to be shafted. i have 6 characters and not one has 15k armor.
also what about sets that arnt 15k such as the vabbi ones that cost 5k?

Ascended armour or prestige armour does not just mean 15K. Standard armours are not included, but Vabbian or Ancient armour (at 5K and 10K) would be.

All Ascended/Elite/Prestige/whatever they want to call it these days Armor from the 5k Vabbian - FoW verions will count in it. 1K armors will not.

I'm really disappointed the normal 1k armors can't be included, since I can't afford a million sets of prestige armor. I have enough right now to get my rit some 75k armor, but I'm waiting to get it in EotN. It's the only expensive set she'll have most likely, so I'll only be able to display one set? How...lame.
I really wish they made it so you could display any armor. People who can't afford expensive armor now have no use for that part of their hall.

this picture is from the gwen video demo taken at 9:18 , you can see that the second armor (left to right) is the ritualist teapot armor , so fow its included,
also the second (right to left) is ranger canthan 15k, i can't tell about the rest because its too dark and the video has poor quality but atleast those are included.
edit:btw since there are armors for more than 1 class in the same hall, i guess its 1 hall for each account, not for each char.

Ive read a couple of posts from other HoM type threads that mentioned "only got parts of sets...." and so:
I think the real question now is do you need to have the entire set to be able to display it. Since the video stated the word "Sets.."
I myself only have 1 character that have mixed and from Proph even, and my others have full sets from all chapters.
/Foreshadows complaints from players eminent? (if it is "set-only")

Mixing armor is much better then full sets as it makes you alot more individual then if you go with a full set and some mixed armors actually look better then full set anyway. Alot of players i have met mix there armor so guess afew will be unhappy with arenanet.
It would be great if you didnt have to have complete sets of armor but only one piece of it. Would also be good if they made it so characters could trade pieces of armor from different professions.
So you would see monk saying trading luxon monk glove for necro primevil one.
would be very fun seeing people trading body parts and would mean you only need one piece of a 15k set to really get started.
Im also worried about how these armors will unlock skins in the next game. my guess is that for each armor we have in HoM we can choose a new skin from a preset list. so if you have a luxon set dosnt mean you would get a luxon skin but get to choose from a list of armor which you wanted. more sets you have more skins you can get.

Ah thats too bad, I like the Kurzixk 1K much more than the 15K anyway. I guess I'll just have to put my Ancient and Luxon elite...

Awww, so there is absolutely no chance at all of being able to put 1k armors in the HoM? Some of my favorite armors are 1k armors....

I do a lot of mixing and matching too. Hrm.

Are you talking about the 1.5k armor? If so, you may be wrong about it being included because it is ascended armor. Getting run there before doesn't exclude it from being asended.

Armour from Droknar's Forge isn't ascended armour. Just because you ascend in the story line before you get the armour, doesn't make it ascended armour. The ascended armour is the 15k from Granite and Marhan's.

I'm pretty sure that the ANet dictionary definition of Ascended armor is 15k armor.

I wonder the use of that armor if ANET going to increase the cap lvl more than lvl 20, which means those armor would be useless.
Unless it would be automatically increase to fit to the lvl that we have which mostly impossible to do so.

All putting stuff in the HoM does is allow us to unlock different items for our GW2 characters.

This applies to me, as well. Though there are 2 main reasons I don't really care about this too much:
1) The Hall of Monuments is just a museum of e-peen; and 2) If it matters that much that you must display your armor to get some kind of bonus in GW2, we've got a good 2+ years time to work on getting the sets we want displayed. Not to mention we can still work on it even after GW2 is out and we know exactly what kind of bonuses we get from the HoM. -Loki-

Ascended Armour is the term Arenanet use for 'expensive armour'. It was changed to Elite armour in Nightfall because there is no method of Ascension (Wei No Su is ascension in Factions), then they added 'Elite' to the Ascended armour names in Prophecies and Factions. If the person giving the information said Ascended armour is recorded in the HoM, it's more than likely they were slipping back to the old naming method for expensive armour.
