I got in a flamewar with Ensign about elementalist damage.
A pile of posts later and it turns out that maybe perhaps I wasn't quite as right as I thought I was at the time. Maybe.

I joined because it was the best forum around and probably still is by a long shot. I don't remember my first post since I only posted once in about the 2 years I had the account.

I use to post at Gamespot alot, but they hardly ever talked about GW. They all like " oh I a hardcore gamer, I got all the consoles and buy every game that comes out, when it comes out, and talk about the flavor of the month".
I grew out of that phase and finally found a game I like alot, so naturally why not goto a place where people talk about it.

So, it was when I finally finished Prophecies, and went back to get the bonus for THK, and got a Perfect Req.8 Mursaat Hammer. So my first post, naturally was a price check on how much the hammer was worth. I had an account on GWGuru from long before, though I never posted, lol.

I got off the school bus one fateful day in 8th grade and was confronted by a friend of mine who was also anticipating the release of GW. We were both longtime members of TGH, which were undoubtedly the best forums back then. Anyway, he said, "Have you registered on guru yet?" I skipped a class, went to the media center and went to guru for the first time, (this was just after the first gw beta weekend event, (1/05) ) it was founded by some recognizable alpha guys, so I signed up and started posting. It's a lot more hectic these days.

I think I lurked around the site a bit even before I got the game, mostly reading about professions, skills and builds etc. Then I got the first game, felt poor, registered and started doing some art commissions .

I joined because I was new to Guild Wars and wanted to learn about what's going on in the community. At the point I was mostly active in the Unreal (1) community and there forums are THE way to communicate with each other and set up a project.
I like the community here. Overall I think the community is quite well educated about the game and reasonably professional in communicating on a forum. The only thing that buge me here a bit are the technical (performance) issues with the guru servers.

Joined the site to get view the maps with the skill locations on it, didnt post for some months, then started to sell items in the auctions, posted a messsage some time after that, no idea what it was about though
