I can't seem to figure out why I was banned
Ozak
I got banned about 3 days ago and I can't seem to figure out why I was banned. The only thing I can think of it that I bought Nightfall and Factions off of eBay and those keys were brand new no characters and were never used before. Is there something wrong with buying the game off eBay or is it violating the rules/conditions somehow? I don't see the problem with buying the game brand new off eBay is it has never been used before. There is nothing else I can think of but maybe someone took something I said the wrong way or something like that. I never mean to be rude but maybe someone took it that way. I came to you guys because maybe you can give me some idea of what I could have done, or is there some way I can appeal and unlock it early?

A guy buys some keys with a stolen credit card then sells them on ebay. When the credit card owner denies the original purchase it gets charged back and then Anet cancels the keys. So yeah don't buy online games from ebay.

Yes, eBaying is forbidden by EULA.
The reason is simple - keys can be spoofed. So you end up with a key that validates, but doesn't correspond to any copy that was ever sold.
That's an easy way to detect scammers that earn money off illegal sales.
This is why eBaying accounts (keys) is generally forbidden, since you have no way of verifying authenticity - "never used before" does not mean the key is valid. Unless you have original piece of paper on which the key was printed, or electronic receipt from online store that contains the key - you have no guarantees for anything.
Don't eBay game stuff. All chapters are very cheap these days, and saving a few bucks isn't worth the risk - after all, if someone is selling copy well under the market price, something is bound to be fishy.
If you do have the original box, online store receipt or anything similar, and believe your banning had something to do with that, then you can appeal.

Did you buy the keys recently or was it a while ago? Because it would seem strange if it's been like 6 months or so and the banning occurred right now. The only thing I could suggest is to email support. They're the only ones who can give you that information.

If you were banned because of an ebayed account, it would most likely be a permanent ban, not a 3 day suspension.
Your best bet is to contact support and ask them.

If you bought just the keys from ebay, then I would suspect a key related problem, although as someone else mentioned, this would usually be a perma-ban.
If however, you bought the whole sealed boxed games, then I would suspect that you have been banned for something you have done in-game.
A temp ban is usually only given for minor infringements of the EULA.
Either way, we can't help you here and you need to raise a support ticket.

Yeah I bought the keys because all my stores were sold out of them. eBay didn't have any game boxs being sold in the next 15 days so I had to do something. I'll make sure not to make the same mistake again. But it says when I log in that have about 260 hours left before the game is available to me.
Ozak
I never meant any harm by buying the keys the seller specifically said they were brand new, and that when the game is bought he would unseal the box and tell me the key. Now if that is the case and this seller is lying shouldn't they be going after the seller because he said they were brand new and they were not?
VanDamselx
The seller probably deleted his/her account because most scammers do that on eBay. NCSoft would never go as far to prosecute the key seller, there's nothing they could really do.
Again, e-mail support and figure out why. That's quite a hefty ban.

It could be any reason for you to get banned not just e-bay, from using the naughty words, spam or just being an a-hole in game. I don't know what you did, I wasn't there and I don't care that much. Just chill out, drinking some beers, check out that Cloverfield trailer on youtube or read a book.

2 week ban.
You didn't swear, abuse or generally be an ass to anyone in-game? buy/see in-game gold?
Spam bans are generally 3 days so that can be ruled out.

I'm never an ass to anyone in a game, and I don't believe in buying gold. I never swore or abused.

Maybe I talked to someone and they probably took it like I was being a smartass or something. I guess that could explain it. I never "mean" to be hurtful maybe someone took it that way.

Contact support, only thing you can do.
Ozak
I'll make sure I do. Thanks for the help everyone.
