I Want An Ias!
The Lurch
Okay, I'll get right down to the meat and mashed potatoes of my subject.
Give assassins an IAS, usable in PvP. the Sunspear skill Critical Agility is amazingly wonderful...in PvE.
Since I don't think we will be getting any new skills for EotN then ANet has released (other than pve only skills) I think we should already modify an existing skill into an IAS.
I'm talking about Flashing Blades. IMHO it isnt fully deserving of "elite" status. It gives a 75% chance to block while attacking. Rangers have skills like this where the only drawback is the long recharge. The only thing special about Flashing Blades is that it can be constantly maintained (at 15 Dagger Mastery).
So...why not keep the existing idea of Flashing Blades but add a small IAS to it?
Current Version
Flashing Blades: Elite Stance
Attb: Dagger Mastery
10E, 30CD
For 5...25...32 seconds you have a 75% chance to block incoming attacks while attacking.
My Version
Flashing Blades: Elite Stance
Attb: Dagger Mastery
15E (could be kept at 10) 30CD
For 5...25...32 seconds you attack 10...25...33% faster and have a 75% (could be lower for balance, if needed) to block attacks while attacking.
Essentially, it is kept the same, just with a minor buff. This skill is rarely used or at least from what i see. It comes in handy in FoW and UW when I run it with my sin, but i always feel it is lacking something.
Questions? Comments? Complaints? Feel free to rip this into tiny pieces if you want, as long as its constructive.
*EDIT*: When I said rangers have skills like this, i meant skills that give you a 75% chance to block at very little drawback. I think we all know are good friend Whirling Defense? Thats what I mean

Forgive the stupid question, but what does the acronym IAS mean?
tenshi_strife
increased attack speed. and anyway the reason sins dont have that is because they still have the highest attack speed if you count double strikes, so giving them and increase just makes then all that more deadly and unbalanced. but thats just my opinion
Darkobra
Increased Attack Speed. It's probably been answered by 20 different people by the time I hit enter...
nugzta
Thats not gonna happen, ever. Remember BoA sin? Yeah ....

Okay, thanks guys.

Assassins are something like a vulcan machine gun of hits.
That's why the only IAS skill is PvE only. Because it would be unbalanced in PvP.

I was gonna say 'no way. Sins are bloody overpowered with IAS'. But if it's elite, it's probably OK. Though no one is going to use it because you can't use Shadow Prison or Moebius anymore.

If sins ever get an IAS for PvP, it can't be more than 15% or else it'll be insanely imbal...
Speaking of which, I want an IAS for my conjure flame wanding ele too...

Plus if you think about it, Locust's fury is sort of an IAS...but I still think flashing blades could be buffed, its hardly used as is right now anyway.
Kool Pajamas
If they give sins an IAS even as elite, you can't also be giving them chances to block. If anything, as a drawback to the skill besides being elite, they should lose armor. IAS as a sin skill would be powerful even as an elite.
Phoenix Tears
simple use IAS skills of ur secondary class oO ?
just a little question, may it be dumb or not XD

IAS on daggers is a very powerful technique and is a concious EXCLUSION from the assasin's repetoire of PVP skills because it would be immensely overpowered.
The BoA Sin is proof of how dangerous IAS can be when mixed with many of the assassins existing skills.

There's a way to fix flashing blades. Turn it into a skill instead of a Stance, and done. It turns into a nice choice.

*EDIT*: Heres an idea...why dont we have a new weekend where we include some of these concept skills/skill buffs and/or nerfs in? Make some people happy, and we can see what the effects of doing some of this will be

Ultra Mega
A new skill in EotN looks like it could be the new IAS for Assassins if they don't mind going Rt secondary.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Weapon_of_Aggression
At 4 channeling it is 8 sec and at 7 it is 10 secs for a 25% IAS.
It also has a nice 1/4 sec casting time but it does have a 10en cost.

But anyway, I would not mind an elite IAS.
