Question about req7 items

Hi, I was wondering if weapons with a requirement of 7 are still able to drop

Max req 7? I'm not sure there is such a thing, I believe req 8 is the lowest on max and if there is a max req 7 then it is the rarest of the rare.

ryker - there are req 7 items from prophecies

ive seen a req 7 plat blade ... from factions, so i suppose they still drop? =/

dont think ul ever get a req7 inscrib though

They do still drop. For max weapons the lowest req. is 7 for non inscribable, 8 for inscribable.

This being said max req. 7 weapons with decent mods are VERY hard to come by.

Yep, max req 7 items are still out there, along with some other oddball items that you don't see very often, but they're not very common. And like R1p70r said, they usually come with lousy stats. Most of my odd items I've found in the UW, tho I don't know if thats the most common place to find them or just my wierd luck at work.

I had a max, req 7 Gothic sword drop for me - no inherent mods and it was clean. added 20/13 Sundering Hilt and Swordsmanship +1 20% pommel to it, but not sure what it'd be worth. I've had it for a little while, but Nightfall was already out (or about to come out) when I got it as a drop in the Echovald Forest.

i have a max req 7 longsword 14%^50% so i know they exist, ultra rare to see a good req7 item.

Everyone knows they exist, I have a perfect r7 Crenellated myself, but I want proof that they still drop at this very moment. Anet could have discontinued them.
Edit: I'm talking about Gold, Max Damage weapons from Prophecies/Factions

Although I have no proof there seems to be a steady supply of R7 items which can only suggest they still drop. Maybe only imperfect items drop as R7 now as I have seen alot of non max / imperfect inherent damage modifier items come up for sale.

Would be nice if they no longer dropped though.

That could EASILY be items that already pre-existed which users are ust buying then selling them out again for profit, unless those items are like nightfall items, like latest new additions.

I've never seen an r8 item drop in NF as max and never seen anyone selling a scythe or spear that was r8. I have seen r8 inscribables for sale. What is the actual use of these items anyway?

Rarity? People like having rare stuff.

The only 'real' advantage is that there's some monk builds you could run at 7/8 Tactics, and get the full benefit of a shield.

i always thought that lower lvls would drop max req7s .. seeing as they drop lower dmg stuff, the req is lower, and sometimes they drop max.. so the req might stay low? =/ ...

maybe low lvl in HM or something.

Mostly swords and shields. I've never seen a max req. 7 bow, hammer or staff/wand.

And all of them where either proph or faction items. I've seen ''loads'' of req. 7 celestial stuff in the past months here on guru...

So maybe hardcoregrind vermins...?

Max Req7 items generally only drop in the areas where a low level area joins into a higher level area.

That is why there is a lot of Req7 Celestial items and no max/gold req7 Chaos axe's or Fellblades. (as they only drop in level20+ areas)

Yes there are req. 7 fellblades, though they are white. I once found one while farming some trolls in their hood and i saw several times threads in the PC section here. No, i don't have a SS, believe me or not, i don't care .

req7 gold max item's stopped dropping with the hard mode update back in april.
since that day req9 is the new req8, which means with extreme luck u'll still be able to drop a max req8, but a req7 is completely impossible to drop now.

I'm aware req7 white items exist, we are talking abot max/gold items. There is no max/gold req7 Fellblades or Choas axe's. I at one point was offering 15million for one or the other.
