It's about 30 days. But in that 30 days, you cannot try to open the chest, or it's another 30 days. That's why I didn't get mine for months, I tried to open too soon. Got it 2 more times in the past 2 months though. Going to do it again around August 31st, because I know that way, that it's been 30 days.
At least that's the way it's spose to work, but it doesn't work on everybody. Whether that's intentional or not, I do not know.

Everyone knows the chests reset when you have without a doubt given up trying.
If you go to check a chest, of course it won't have reset because you didn't give up checking it!
It's very simple.
If you want the chests to reset, never check them again.

Ive had my chests reset about 5 times now. after the 5th time, u start getting purples EVERY time. relaly lame if u ask me

I think you have to play that character for awhile before the chest will reset.

from my experience, im 100% confident that the chests get reset on the characters played least on the account.
