How Many Characters/Professions Do You Play?
cce
I'd note that it's the lack of grind that permits us to have more than one character, and thus fully experiencing Guild Wars. I've found that actually playing a given class gives me a great deal of understanding of the game's mechanics that I just wouldn't understand otherwise. I hope that GW2 doesn't destroy this, making it realistically possible for a "casual player" to have only one character.
Myself, I've got my 3 prop characters (Mo/Ra, Wa/Ne, Me/El) plus a Rt and now a Pa. Since prop, I've given up on full unlocks, only unlocking Mo, Wa, Rt, and Pa. My Me/El has the most unlocks (both mesmer, elementalist, necromancer curses, and many monk skills).

I have 10 characters one of each profession and one PvP slot that I can use for anything needed.
I have all primary profession skills available to each of these characters as well. Each PvE character also has one set of 15k armor to use.
The Paragon and Assassin have become my two favorites although finding a group in high end can be disappointing at times. At least I have another profession to that can get into those areas.

My main character that I'm trying to get most titles on is a ranger. I also play ritualist, necro, and ele very often. I play my warrior when the mood strikes. My first character to get through Prophecies was my monk, but I don't like the stress of playing monk, so she only smites now. I have a level 20 mesmer that I haven't really played that much, eventually I will get around to playing her.
I've been working on a dervish lately that's up to lvl 19. And I have a presear Ranger that I"m doing LDOA on.
I've made the other two professions but they are parked for now. Getting all those others through 3 campaigns when you play casually takes a while.

I play my monk mainly, with my ranger a close second. I originally tried to do one of every profession, but I was so used to playing monk I soon found I couldn't stand the playstyle of certain professions(like warrior). So instead I'm continuing to try and learn how to mesh every secondary with my monk and ranger as deeply as possible. I also have a necro in the works, but that's more of an experiment.
But that's just my two cents

Evilsod
Got all 10 professions, but i mostly play Ranger, followed by Dervish.
Hidden Guru
I have all ten professions, and I tend to spend about equal time on each of them, as much as I can. My monk is by far my primary, but I'd have to say that my Dervish and my Paragon are also pretty fun to play. All ten characters have beat all the campaigns and such.
The Defiled Knight
I only have 1 character and that's a Dervish, i've had atleast 2 characters for each other profession but by the time i've got to lvl 20 with any of them i was bored and deleted them (never had one for more then a week and a half) but my dervish ive had for 5 months now. and plan to have him for many more to come.

I have 3 mules, play 3 PvE/PvP chars (ranger, necro, warrior), have a free PvP char (currently a ele), and one other char that is at 11 months and getting deleted for w/e. But I usually only play my necro, ranger, and warrior.
So 3 out of 8.

I have 12 slots, 10 professions at level 20, 1 Perma-Pre slot and one PvP/Emergency slot.
For the 10 professions I'll just try to get all skills from primary profession, and then unlock all outposts, except with my 'main' character, and Elementalist, with that I try to get some more stuff and get a title once in a while.
The Perma-Pre Slot is used with all 6 professions, I sometimes delete it and make another and go around helping guildies and friends and such.
And the PvP emergency... welll, the PvP part is understood, the 'emergency' part is meant for cases where I need a slot to get something, like a -50HP Grim cesta, some Monastery Credits, etc...

I have a character of every profession, except for Dervish. I play all of them fairly extensively. The Me is still L14 or so, since that was supposed to be for a guild group run through Prophecies. I never really got into playing Paragon, though I'll have to try messing around with Spear Mastery more often. My Rit is another one who hasn't seen that much play, mainly just farming/Spirit Spammer in Urgoz. Four or five of them (maybe more?) are for extra storage. There are only three, I think, who've finished two campaigns. Four are halfway done with Factions to HzH and Cavalon.
And yeah, titles do suck when you have a bunch of characters, which is just another reason I don't really pay much attention to it, so that somewhat screws me over for the Hall of Monuments.

I have tried all 10 professions, and currently have lvl 20 nec, derv, war, sin & rit, my necro is the only toon to complete all 3 campaigns and somehow became the only one i cared about; best armor/weapons, only one i title (2 away from people know me, all pve titles). I have others I have started, lvl 14 ele, lvl 9 ranger, lvl 2 para, lvl 17 perma pre monk. Isn't it strange how we tend to fixate on a certain toon, I wonder at what point it is that we decide which it is that we like playing the most. I may one day try to start a mesmer again, if i can get over their fruity little dance.

6 characters, have done all chapiters will all

I have... 7 lv20 regular PvE characters (necro, ranger, warrior, dervish, assassin, ritualist, monk), with necro having eaten half of my played hours. Aside that, I have 2 mules; a lv4 mesmer (who's also a perma-Urgoz, free weekends ftw) and a lv3 paragon; a perma-pre (necro, might delete for a reg. PvE paragon); a rerollable PvP slot (currently a necro) and a lv12 mesmer who I'm working on.
Second account is Prophecies-only for now, and has a lv2 necro, lv2 warrior and a lv7 ranger.

I have 8 slots currently I have a Ranger, Assassin, Monk, Warrior, Dervish, and Elementalist (all lvl 20 and have completed at least one campaign). My Primary Character is subject to change, I typically spend a week with a character until i get bored and then play some other character. Eventually I would like to have 11 slots one for each profession + a PvP character but for some reason every time I attempt to buy the slots from the Online Store I get an Err=1751111.
SharonC
I have 14 slots at the moment. 1 of each profession, with 2 rangers, 2 elementalists, and 2 monks, plus one free slot which will probably be a second necro when I get around to creating him.
My first character was a warrior, but I swapped to monk and ranger pretty quickly. I played my ranger through all three campaigns, and unlocked all the skills for her before any of the others had completed any campaign. My second favorite character would be my ritualist, followed closely by my monk, then ele, mesmer and necro tie for 4th place in my list of favorites. I am actively playing these 5 characters.
As to the others, my dervish finished NF, and I still pull her out for various things, but she isn't one I play regularly. Same for the warrior. I am slowly working on the paragon, but not one I care for too much. I'll have her finish NF, but then most likely will retire her. The assassin is sitting, untouched for months. For some reason I have a great deal of trouble playing a 'sin. Hopefully I will get back to her one day soon.
I find that playing each profession not only helps me unlock the skills for the heroes, it also lets me understand some of the synergy of skills and lets me make better choices is setting up heroes skill bars to work together.
Woodsy.

I have 3 pve characters. 1 Dervish (which is my main), 1 necro and 1 perma-pre ranger. And I use the 6 other slots for pvp characters.
With my dervish I try to achieve as much titles as possible. I have alrdy 6 maxed titles and near maxing 10 titles. Completed all campaigns with him, and have legendary survivor and almost all elite skills.
My necro is only lvl 14 but she has alrdy 15k scar pattern for 9 months.
My ranger is currently lvl 16 in pre-searing.

4) N - beat all campaigns - how I loved raising minions
5) Rt - beat F & NF, reached Ember light Camp - Fewest deaths by far
6) Mo - beat all campaigns - now a 55 farming machine and title RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO
7) P - beat F & NF, somewhere in dessert - not played that much, frankly
8) D - beat NF and P, reached Senji's - soloed Welcome to Cantha for a long time or would be through Factions.
9) Me - beat all campaigns - Tyrian born & Mesmer's are actually really fun to play.
10) A - beat F & NF - Working on getting her to tombs to try some farming builds there.

I play all of the core classes, but prefer warrior and mesmer.
In PvE, I have one of each core class, but mostly play monk or warrior.
Really haven't played sin or rit at all, and though I had a run with the paragon, it got boring as well.

I have 3 characters, I'd like to have more, but I don't really have time to play them. My Warrior is the most played, with 3.5million XP and 1100+ hours. My Ele is my second most played, with 300+ hours and 1million XP. My Monk is still fairly new, with about 80 hours and 100,000 XP

I play 6 professions: mesmer, ele, monk, ritualist, paragon and ranger (perma-pre for now). The last 3 slots are for pvp chars, but I use 2 of them as mules (I have updgraded them with bags and pouch) and they are permanent, so I'll get birthday minis from them. I have no time and no wish to start over a necro, a warrior, a sin or a dervish.
Hyper.nl
I mostly play my Elementalist. I'm relativly new to the game (Sept 2006) and I still like to have a lot of titles and other high-end stuff, so I focus on my main character and max it out. Since a month I also have a perma-pre ranger tho. The rest of my characters are storage keepers.
Mister Overhill
10 in all, including a couple of mules. All PVE, covering all games. Just can't seem to get into the Factions and Nightfall professions though.
3 monks including a smiter.
2 rangers including the April, 2005 original
2 necros
1 nuker
1 warrior
1 mesmer (2 days old)

I have played all non-nf professions to 20 at least once, however I always seem to stick with assassin. At the moment, I'm trying to unlock every skill for my assassin to make builds that defy all conventions (oh, and they work too btw... at least some of them lol)
I'm sick and tired of my ninja mask though, so here's to hoping that there will be some generic headgear for my assassin in EotN that I can upgrade him with.
My second favorite though is easily ritualist. I guess you could say that Factions was my favorite of the three

11 slots, one char per profession for PvE, one empty slot for PvP, GvG, and AB

All the colours of the rainbow, plus two mules for each class to carry their kit. And one PvP slot on each of the 3 accounts.
I title hunt and complete storyline missions with one character only, have another two for Legendary Survivor and LDoA, the rest are farmers for a bit of solo fun.
I plan to run one character from my other two accounts through all missions simply to have access to a 6 hero party for Vanquishing. Zone in with two accounts, Log Out on one...instant 3 hero henchies.
