sylvari in GW:EN?
Tender Wolf
Okay, I've heard that there will be heroes of and introductions to the new races, like the asura, norn, and charr. But what about the sylvari? The PC Gamer article said those will be in Guild Wars 2, but I'm hearing less and less about them. Will they be in GW:EN, or will we have to wait until the sequel? I hope they don't cancel them, because I wanted my first Guild Wars 2 character to be a sylvari, with a norn in second place. Does anyone know? Thanks!

Dont worry the Sylvari are not cancelled. We will witness the birth of the Sylvari in Eye of the North most likely after the battle with the Great Destroyer (Probably an ending cinematic showing the state of Tyria after the Battle with the Sylvari being born after the chaos and destruction) . They will probably be one of the things that sets the stage for GW2.

The Sylvari are one of the playable races for Guild Wars 2, and will be first introduced in Eye of the North, with the "birth" of the first Sylvari witnessed during the Eye of the North storyline. They are a young race of nature spirits. They are agile and magically adept, with a connection to plants.
Concept art depicts a Sylvari female as a slim humanoid with leaflike hair, soft facial features and swirling tattoos.
So far, Sylvari has been used in the plural and possessive forms, the correct singular form is currently unknown.
Want to point out that it says during the eotn storyline, which means it could be at any part.

Yeah, I'd like a little more clarification on that part, whether the birth of the Sylvari we will witness means just one Sylvari, the first, or Sylvari as a group and/or race.
And why can't we have one as a hero...?

Well, my guess is since the Sylvari are going to be witnessed at the end of EOTN , nothing will really be known about them untill someone beats EOTN.
A hero might fit in kind of like Razah, but i don't think there will be one, they will be something really reserved for GW2
