Weaponsmiths: Allow them to inscribe!

There is a debate going on in the community about whether items should be made inscribable in Tyria and Cantha. Normal users say "yes", collectors say "no".

My own personal opinion is in the "no" camp, however, I think it would make sense to allow Weaponsmiths the ability to inscribe items. That way, the collectors are satisfied because they can find, buy, and sell pure, perfect uninscribable items, and everyone else can make inscribable items from any skin they find and desire.

Of course, this should be a one-time-use option per item, like customization, i.e. do it once and you are done, no going back.

Well... I would agree with this with a couple of conditions. One of them for sure. The other optional, a 'maybe'.

- 1 The item loses all properties but the base ones. So if it was a maxdmg-req9, 15%dmg, 20%Penetration, +30HP, it turns into a maxdmg-req9, Inscription: None.

- 2 The optional one. The item must be customized. So even if the weapon was a bit bad, you can't sell it for more once inscribed.

Yes, if you made it so it had to be customized for you to get it that way, I totally agree, but to make any weapon inscribable is rediculous.

Making it so that you can add an inscription slot on a non-inscribable, customized weapon at a weaponsmith is a great idea. It shouldn't affect rares collectors at all.

I dont think it should require weapon customization. I think people should still be allowed to sell them if they so choose. This change would just make inscribable weapons be cheaper, and non-inscribable weapons more expensive, i.e. pleasing both types of players.

For example: If anyone can get an inscribable Fellblade just by taking one to the weaponsmith , then demand for them in the economy will go way down, driving the price down with it. For those people who want to trade expensive items, they can keep their perfect weapons un-inscribed and sell them at high prices to the people who are willing to buy them.

Sure, why not? I also like the idea about it having to be customised, so its for personal use rather than so you can sell it on. The idea about having it revert to a straight max damage inscription: none item would probably be easier to implement rather than checks for customisation though. It just becomes like a collectors item, you trade in your old item and the weaponsmith hands you a new inscripted item of the same type.
