Help with Channeling

This is for AB.
I've been playing a resto build until now but got bored and want to try something new. How should a channeling build for AB look like? There are some PBAoe spells but is that the way a chan build should be played? runing to mele range and cast spells? If I don't use PBAoe spells then I feel like a weaker air ele that caps very slow. Spirit rift is the only Aoe long range spell.

Some ppl said that rits are very good capers. Does that refer to spirit spammers or channeling rits?

My fire ele can cap any shrine, has very good survival with mystic regen and can PvP pretty well. Could a rit get close to that?

Can someone help me with a build that can cap most shrines, be able to kill players and have good survival and not run out of energy to fast. Of course I don't expect to be able to cap the ele and war shrines.
If u can't give a build then some tips or a few skills that I should consider would be welcome.

I use a Channeling build to cap most shrines...the only one i tend not to be able to cap is the elementalist shrine. 3 lightning hammers to the chest is painful. I use:

[skill]Grasping was Kuurong[/skill][skill]Spirit Rift[/skill][skill]Ancestors' Rage[/skill][skill]Essence Strike[/skill][skill]Weapon of Shadow[/skill][skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill][skill]Bloodsong[/skill][skill]Gaze of Fury[/skill]

For the attributes I think I maxed out channeling, put enough points in restoration for Weapon of Shadow to last 10 seconds...rest in spawning.

I keep hold of Kuurong all the time so if I need to drop it, it's ready. To cap a shrine I cast Weapon of Shadow on myself, run in (if I'm attacking melee they become blinded on hit)...stand next to targets, cast spirit rift, re-cast Kuurong (forcing me to drop my current ashes), cast Ancestor's Rage...Drop kuurong again if needed...

Sometimes I'll cast Bloodsong before I go in...then I can use Essence Strike as additional energy management. Gaze of Fury is in there to annoy any enemy ritualists or rangers using nature rituals.

This generally lets me cap most shrines on my own when the rest of my team decides fighting the mob is the best plan.

Keeping Kuurong up is also a nice defence against sins. Sometimes a sin sopts me and thinks he can take me...if he uses Beguiling Haze I can drop the ashes, giving me enough time to cast Weapon of Shadow and own him good!

I'll try ur build but wouldn't be better if I replace gaze of fury with another dmg spell, item spell or some healing? I don't think there are enough rits in AB for gaze of fury to be worth taking.

I like Celestial's build a lot, I have to agree that spirit light or mend body and soul might fit a bit better than gaze of fury.

A simple speed boost like pious haste might also be nice for AB, or perhaps changing the spirit to destruction and bringing swap.

At any rate, those are small critiques.

I have used mesmer 'elemental resistance' specifically to counter fire ele's and to be able also to cap the ele shrine with success.
And for the mesmer and necro shrine, I cannot say whether your KD with 'was kuurong' is sufficient to counter their hexing possibilities, therefore i suggest a resilient weapon.

Not sure why I put Vengeful in that build, it is Resilient Weapon I usually use...there are usually a lot of hexes and conditions thrown around. Not sure why I put Vengeful in there, an old build I guess. It's more than possible to deal with the Necro and Mesmer shrines with that build and Resilient Weapon.

As for the healing, I tried taking a heal but I just never remember to use it Well, that and I love annoying enemy Rits
