Need Guidance from experienced players...
BloodyCreep
I only have the Original Guild Wars, and after me and my friend Quit WoW (been a few months) we realized that we haven't been playing video games as much (even with everything that we did, we still had free time where we were home doing nothing). So... we are thinking about buying Guild Wars Factions, Nightfall, and soon... the new Expansion.
Now can someone tell me, to catch up I'd have to drop a good 80 Dollars now, and than 120 Dollars with the Eye of the North included.
I remember Factions was fun, but I have no clue how nightfall is like.
So can someone explain to me, to get into End Game, and access some new fundamental PvP Abilities, to even have a chance to get into a good guild, would I have to buy all of these expansions? Or is it possible to only buy one of them? (I find it annoying that Guild Wars requires more Hardcore guilds than WoW to actually have fun)

Well if you are serious about PvP, you will require all the expansions, or at least the PvP packs, in order to keep up.
End game...hmn end game. Guild Wars has some lousy end game. Factions has the Deep/Urgoz, and Nightfall has Domain of Annoyance(er....) and all the games have access to the Underworld or Fissure of Woe (if your server has favor of the gods). GWEN is supposedly the end game expansion, so i think you might keep an eye on that (*insert groan track*).
I dont think you need hardcore guilds to have fun. Theres TONS of guilds and theres differing requirements and play styles.

How much are the PvP packs?
Healers Wisper
I have all three games and really enjoy the PvE side of the game. Recently started farming the Deep and getting decent gold and drops down there. I am not som much into DoA, find it kinda annoying.
For PvP, the pack should give you all the skills. You can buy them from the online store. Not sure the price.

Hm 40 Dollars per pack, which doesn't solve my issue, but will allowed me to have all the skills unlocked. I Don't know, not sure if this is a good idea for me to jump in.
Seems like I'd be spending a lot of time catching up to people, or spending a lot of money, or both, and than BAM eye of the north.

Well, since you have the original Guild Wars (Prophecies), you can simply buy the expansion when it launches. You'll have access to the heroes available in Eye of the North so you really wouldn't have to buy Nightfall if you don't want to.
You'd miss out on some very good skills though, which would be the main incentive for getting Factions and NF. Also, the Deep and Urgoz are a lot of fun in Factions as others mentioned. I thought the skill packs were only $9.99 per campaign in the online store for PvP?
I've read that Sam's Club or Costco sold a triple pack where you could get all 3 campaigns for like $69.99 or something but I'm not sure that's still available.
Anyways, it really is a pretty good time to join in. Everybody is going to be starting over gathering materials, weapons and armor when GWEN comes out.

Well... yeah I need some way to get those damn skills.

I know Factions is $19.99 at zipzoomfly.com, and you can probably find deals for Nightfall if you look around the net.

My first advice: don't purchase the PvP packs. The greatest reason is that you're likely to spend a lot of money ($40.00 for each pack, if memory serves) for a large number of skills that you won't ever use. The folks in the July 2007 Tournament, after consideration, used 136 non-elite skills and 28 elite skills. In comparison, every campaign together has almost 845 non-elite skills and 290 elite skills (not including PvE-only skills). A quick glance says that some campaigns aren't very helpful to certain professions. Nightfall and Prophecies are likely the greatest help to a PvP player in terms of standalone builds. So far as I care, Factions kind of helps a lot of things fall into place; it isn't required to make a great PvP character, but having it opens up a handful of very useful and powerful skills. And, of course, it's the only way to play a ritualist or an assassin.
PvP was always one of the great benefits of Guild Wars. Any skill or item that you find in PvE is automatically available for any PvP character that you create. Any kind of PvP earns you Balthazar faction to acquire useful skills.
Ostensibly (although I wouldn't advise it), you could work ground up from the Zaishen Challenge (2,000 to 6,000 faction every day) and make a strong character from scratch in a very short period of time:
1 elite skill (3,000 faction)
7 non-elite skills (7,000 faction)
Radiant or Survivor Insignias (2,000 faction for both)
Minor and Utility Runes (5,000 faction for five)
Item Upgrades (12,000 for six) to cover a primary and secondary weapon set
Total: 29,000 faction
This, of course, assumes that you don't unlock any of these skills or items from PvE.

Same price as too slots - can't be beaten!

Hm... Anyone know a good deal for Guild Wars: Nightfall? If I could buy both for a total of 40$ I totally would.

You can pick up all three chapters from fry's website for $20 each now, can't remember how much the Eye of the North expansion is being touted at, but if you have an account, anything you add is just more content and then its just a case of which content you want first...
The pvp editions are more expensive, but they re only available from the ingame/plaync store and depends on whether you want to get into high end gvg right away or not, otherwise, buy the normal retail versions and just unlock skills through the campaigns and through any balthazar faction you accumulate whilst Pvp'ing

Um, I just checked on Fries, and http://shop4.outpost.com/search?sear...x=0&submit.y=0
Would it be weird if I would just have bought the Eye of the North without any of the other Expansions?

Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall are all referred to as campaigns, since they're all standalone. Eye of the North is not, a true expansion, so without any of the other ones, you can't do anything with it.
