I hear it has been happening to many people, probably all. This is what you call epic.

Epic \Ep"ic\, a. [L. epicus, Gr. ?, from ? a word, speech, tale, song; akin to L. vox voice: cf. F. ['e]pique. See Voice.]
Narrated in a grand style; pertaining to or designating a kind of narrative poem, usually called an heroic poem, in which real or fictitious events, usually the achievements of some hero, are narrated in an elevated style.
The epic poem treats of one great, complex action, in a grand style and with fullness of detail. --T. Arnold.

Here's the thing. I enjoy words... a lot. I especially enjoy expletives and modifiers... EGAD! YIKES! Zowie! Gadzooks! Suave (pronounced Swah-vay) and Tiptop are a few that immediately come to mind. And I enjoy other people's witticisms... such as yours... above. But I don't take them on as my own, and I don't use numerals in lieu of letters in words to prove I'm elite. To do so is actually following along like a sheep and far removed from the ultimate elitism which is individualism.
Epic is a great word but there is nothing clever or witty about trying to pawn it off as a synonym for awesome/bitchin/super-duper/etc. I'm not one to make assumptions or "educated" quesses, but if I were pressed to make an assessment of the person or persons who have tried to make it a synonym-du-jour for groovy/heavy/doozie, I feel confident in saying they either have an IQ that isn't quite in the triple digits (or maybe just there) or are just now learning to speak English as a second language.
The reality is that epic≠rad/gnarly/spiffy/etc or even Awesome Amish Furniture Maker. And there are a lot of better synonyms out there to choose from... Legendary. Aprocraphal. Aces. Top-drawer. Capital. Crackerjack. blah blah blah

...of course, since that song is so out of date, my mentioning it instantly gives me a million-billion cool points.
...then my mentioning of my mentioning of the acquisition of my cool points makes me lose them all.
...but it's okay, cause cool points aren't cool anyway!

Here... have fun... An Answer to the silly question, "What is the longest word in the dictionary" (Not my choice of words... it's the title of the page).
My personal favorite is probably the one that James Joyce coined: bababadalgharaghtakamminarronnkonnbronntonnerronnt uonnthunntrovarr hounawnskawntoohoohoordenenthurnuk
You're not too bad with words yourself. I like your nickname.
Btw, savvy (one of my all time favorites) is spelled with two 'v's. It's much lovelier with two 'v's... don't you think?
