Weapon customization for casters

This has probably been suggested before; however, I don't see why it wouldn't be implemented for the sake of equality.
All weapons can be customized for a 20% damage bonus.
A 20% damage bonus on a wand or staff is relatively useless compared to an energy bonus for most casters.
My idea is to allow people to have a choice between customizing any weapon with +7 energy or +20%damage (the inscriptions +7e\/50 and 20%\/50 are equal).
This makes customizing caster weapons useful.
If this idea is implemented, I'd suggest allowing people to re-customize their weapons (with the desired bonus) or be able to switch back and forth between damage and energy.
This would solve the problem of caster weapons which are already customized from being rendered inferior in comparison.

Looks like you don't do much wanding. There's a reason why people add 15^50 inscriptions to wands/staves to increase damage output.

Most casters have a 15^50 wand just in case they have to quickly wand a target with very low health.
Even monks in gvg will carry a 15^50 wand.

If everyone considers wand damage better than an energy bonus, then I guess it should stay the way it is. Heh...

+7 energy bonus seems a bit high. Combine with a +5 while enchanted and you'd have +12 energy on a wand.

Sigh... for me customization should be like this:
One handed weapons (and wands and daggers) keep the +20% damage.
Two handed weapons (but not daggers and staves) +33% damage.
Shields: +3 Armor
Foci: +3 energy.
Staves: +5 energy instead of +20% damage.
That way, if people needs to wand, the extra nergy for customization will be in the foci, and the damage in the wand, but if people want to focus on energy, they could use +25energy staves.

People seem to not be reading what I wrote...
I.E. You can choose whether or not you want to put +20% damage or +7energy on any weapon when you customize...
To spell out my proposed mechanic in detail, let us say I go to the weaponsmith. I want to customize my new wand, staff, sword, daggers, scythe, bow, etc and select it and hit customize. A window gump pops up (let us say it looks like the salvage menu). It says, "Please select the weapon modification you desire: +7 Energy or +20% Damage."
I pretty sure that there are at least some casters (and even melees) out there that don't want 15^50 or 20\/50, +20%dmg, on all 4 of their weapon sets.
Then again, I could be wrong. =o
