Bard great work!
Question: Should I sticky this, or is there any way you guys can post it without making an outside link?
I'm only on the PC for a few more minutes...so a answer soon would be great!
Testing flash images...here I go...
PHP Code:
<object width="450" height="260"><param name="movie" value="http://backend.deviantart.com/embed/view.swf"></param><param name="flashvars" value="id=61764572" /><embed src="http://backend.deviantart.com/embed/view.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="450" flashvars="id=61764572" height="260"></embed></object><br /><a href="http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/61764572/">GW:EN Countdown</a> by ~<a class="u" href="http://baranor.deviantart.com/">Baranor</a> on <a href="http://www.deviantart.com">deviant</a><a href="http://www.deviantart.com">ART</a>

Personally I'll only sticky this thread if we can somehow get the Countdown into the threads, and not a link.
Seems like too much work for a countdown...I'm just wondering if its possible.

Seems like too much work for a countdown...I'm just wondering if its possible. yeah that makes sense. unless there's a way to allow html in the forum posts i'm not sure how it could be done, unless someone felt like putting it on guru's homepage? just a suggestion.
oh well, I guess it's still somewhat useful as it is

thank you very much for the countdown clock^_^. Anyone know if there's a way I can put this on my desktop? 0.o
Neo Nugget
I would love it if ANET could put one of these up for GWEN like they did with factions. They had a headstart one and a regular timer.
But im glad we have this coundown!

Am I mistaken or is the counter off? Shouldn't the counter have 2 more hours added?

well I can make .exe mirrors if you can't open a .swf file on your computer, but I can't make it so you can have it visible on your desktop always. (hope I wasn't too confusing there >_<)

(hope I wasn't too confusing there >_<) What I meant by the 2 hours is I figured the game would go live at midnight pacific, which would mean 2 hours more for me since I'm in the central time zone. If its set off my computers time that explains it. Phantom Gun
22 Days Nice Counter. I like it.

Awesome counter. It would be funny if Anet pulls a joke on us when the counter hits 666

I would also like a desktop version. If you just stick it on a gif image you could do it. I would do it myself, but I don't have access to the actual .fla file, or the image you cropped for the timer (it would look a bit weird if the timer didn't blend in with the background.
So, if you can bothered creating it as a desktop background, just publish the timer as a .gif when it's stuck back onto the rest of the image. I hope that made sense. It's been awhile since I did anything like this. The Bard

If you have Windows Vista you can just download a program for your side bar. As it already comes with a few functions like clock, notepads, i.e.

Great work Bard. Only thing is since it calibrates itself from our individual computers, and my timezone is GMT+10, it's going to reach zero hour (for me) about 10 hours early.
Still a great job, I just think that perhaps it should be set to a single timezone, to prevent confusion. Meat Axe

anyways, .exe projector thing can be found here. Damn, I was afraid that might happen. I didn't think of that until much later. Ahh well. It's still a great little thing. immortius
The counter doesn't appear to have any understanding of timezones, unfortunately.
In Windows XP, you can add a flash (*.swf) item to the desktop. Right click on Desktop -> select Properties -> select the Desktop tab -> click the "Customize Desktop..." button -> select the Web tab -> click the "New..." button -> click the "Browse..." button -> type *.* and hit enter -> select the countdown timer file and click Open. mazik

Yes, the counter should be set for 12:01 Pacific time, not local time.

20 more days...
Mr. G
Im fairly sure YaY is spelt with an "A" also thats 3 more "!" than you need...that being said i have one word for this timer
YEY!!!! dr_ishmael
I figured out a way to trick the timer into displaying the correct time remaining:
* Set your time zone to Pacific * Start the countdown timer * Reset your time zone I tried manually changing the time first, but the timer picked up on that and updated accordingly. It doesn't pick up on time zone changes, though, so this method works (at least on Windows XP). Takeko Nakano
Could you get rid of the milliseconds? It hurts my eyes if I look at it for too long!

seeing as everyone has OBVIOUSLY already gotten their preorder Clord
10 days to preview event.
