I was thinking about buying more armor for me characters, and was wondering if most ppl keep it in their storage, or on the character itself. Thanks ~Blackest MonkYour Storage

I think this depends on the number of campaigns you have. I have 4 tabs plus a material tab because I have all the campaigns and paid the 50g for the Factions material upgrade. I use one tab to hold dyes which are stackable (this is because Anet hasn't made dyes or keys a separate tab which they should be -- Thanks Anet!). I use two tabs for Weapons/Armor. The rest are modifiers and insignias.
Most people have "mules" which are characters that they don't really play, but just exist to hold more stuff. As the storage chest is account based, after completing some quests all your characters will have access to the same chest so you can simply swap items back and forth between characters.

I'm not much of a packrat so I haven't completely filled my storage yet, but I have it pretty well organized.
Tab 1: Reward Items (monastery credits, trade contracts, Imperial Commendations, etc), Stuff that's in transit for another char or destined for the mules.
Tab 2: MiniPets, overflow from Tab 1
Tab 3: mostly empty. I have 1 set of armor in there that I keep meaning to delete.
Tab 4: Keys, collector items that I keep which isn't many. I mostly merch the collector stuff unless I know of an upcoming benefit (Charr Carvings, Orr emblems, Grawl Necklaces)
I also have 2 Mules and I'm trying to sell down enough stuff to delete one of them.
Mule 1 holds all dyes, holiday stuff and things that I'll need for future use (Victory Tokens, sugar drinks, candy canes)
Mule 2 holds all the gold and green weapons I need to sell.
I don't buy much armor. I look at all the various armor choices for each profession and pick the one that I like the look of the best. That's the one I buy. It's rare that one of my characters has a 2nd armor set. If they do, it's for a special build that's run alot like 55. In that case the 2nd set is stored in one of bags on that char.

if my toons decide they need more armor I wont let them put it in storage...they carry all their extra stuff with them--armor and weapons!
My storage is for all the toons, so I try to keep it simple:
tab 1 is for the collectable stuff from nightfall (m masks, djinn essences, etc)
tab 2 is for extra materials ( I am trying to get 250 of everything in the materials tab, some of it is cheaper to craft so I keep extra stuff there)
tab 3 is for weapons ---gold ones that a hero might want to use, wrappings, hafts, etc and a few collectable items from prophecies just waiting to get to that mule
tab 4 is for factions collectable junk (warden horns, jade bracelets, etc.) and those things you can use for more salvage kits (kourman coins, ancient artifacts, etc).
I have 4 mules that also have more junk
mule 1 has the xmas collectables stuff (everything from the last xmas event--mantrid pincers, spider legs, uncoutous remains etc), along with a few lesser nightfall collectable things (starter island stuff).
mule 2 has all those dumb minipets and xmas stuff (poppers, sparklers, etc)
mule 3 has hard to get collectable things including pre-sear stuff.
mule 4 has more weapons and more collectable things etc.....and some more scrolls that no one (toons) seems to want anymore.
as the avatar presents itself I am a pack rat.
(and 3 new toons may also become mules!
)

)1: Miniatures. (3 slots lefts, XD)
2: Reward Tokens(Monastery Credits, Battle Commendations...) and mistery quest items (Preserved Red Irirs Flowers, Branches of Juni Berries...).

4: Trade slot: Gold items, weapon upgrades, runes and other stuff to be used by other characters and heroes.

so it seems the way to go, is to get a mule or two. Thanks alot for your input.
the way i go is:
1. Misc. and overflow crafting items
2. Runes and insignias, usually always filled
3. Dyes and other weapons used for special farming. (zealous axes and sheilds and stuff)
4. Weapons, tomes, inscriptions.(usually filled too)

Let me think:
- tab 1 is for keeping stuff that can be accessed by all characters, like tomes
It also has free space to swap part of character inventory to storage for vanquishing.
- tab 2 has all my keys (I keep the ones that count for title) and a couple of winter weapons.
- tab 3 has elonian collectable drops
- tab 4 has weapons (gold/green)
Then I have mule Rt, mule Para, mule Derv with all kinds of idiotic stuff (tons of crafting materials, more weapons) and festival items.
I clean them about every two-three months, specially the weapons (if I found a better one, I replace the old one and merch that).

I have all three campaigns and material storage, but 3-5 of my 9 characters are storage characters at any given time; I wouldn't really call them mules, since I'm always moving stuff around and losing track of it -.- . Heroes can work, if you keep a lot of equipment, but it's even easier to lose track of stuff that way.
Slot I - III: It keeps changing; there's stuff from in-game events, armor, weapons, mods, and so on. Yay, mass chaos! :P When it first came out, though, I intended to leave stuff like the -50 HP cesta and various other equipment (I rarely customize anything.) that'd be useful between characters. The bottom half of III, if not all of it, usually has some character's armor in it and tomes. With the armor, I'd say go for it, if you have enough space to have at least one character who only holds what it needs and if the new armor sets serve a purpose. e.g. You don't really need two full sets of armor with Radiant insignias, just replace the pieces.
IV: Dyes and some Minipets (rest just get shuffled around at random)
Why not just use an item that you can't sell to block it off (if you haven't already considered it)? In the character's inventory, I usually start off with equipment/armor, then something like a Festival Ticket, and have the rest of it empty for rapidly selling drops, starting from the bottom. It hasn't failed me yet :P.

I'm a huge packrat. 9 characters, 3 campaigns, 4 slots for storage, 2 bags of 10 slots each character, 1 bag of 5 slots for each character, 9 back packs, all full!
Just kidding, storage is completely full (except the materials, some slots are not full yet), characters bags and pouches are all full, backpacks are about 85% full for each.
I used to keep all materials, then I started to get full with everything, so I keep selling them. Runes in tab 1, dyes in tab 3, festival stuff in tab 2, items and inscriptions in tab 4.

My storage system:
Tabs: 1-2 max inscribable weapons
Tab 3: Max and near perfect insignias & runes also some extra regs
Tab 4: High level insignias (i.e. sword pommel +25 health) for heros. I hold on to these so when I create a new character I'm ready to make the heros rock. Why don't people put insignias and runes on their heros????
